Very nice evolutions there, Michi. Lots of optimal movesets on them too, so they're not all wasted.
I caught an Ivysaur today too, I didn't check its moves, it appraised fairly well ("great")...
*checks*
VINE WHIP/SOLARBEAM!
That's far better than my Venusaur. It's a keeper!
Photobucket is down now, but I made it back to 8 gyms today! Flagpole's still level 10 after 2 weeks! Those other teams aren't touching it now!
I'll hopefully get the pictures here later on.
As for taking down a Level 10 gym... even with the potions I have, not a good idea. Time sink and item sink unless you got others with you. I'm leaving many Mystic level 10 gyms alone.
Also hoping that L10 gym you wanted to take down wasn't Valor....

Re: Pokémon Go
It is absolutely a time sink. Getting a level 3 gym to level 7 solo took so much of my resources.
In class during a break, I saw a level 9 gym for my team and I was o my way to boost it to ten and put a pokemon on it, only to get there at the exact moment someone else put theirs on. This gym had been level 10 for about 2 months and a spot opened up then and there. I was so close!

Re: Pokémon Go
I got "griefed" out of 2 level 10 gyms I was in for 2-3 weeks each. They're back up to Level 10, can't get back in them!
Photobucket's still down so I can't post the pictures yet. I'm down to 7 gyms.

Re: Pokémon Go
Almost makes me want to create a second account with a different team just to knock the bottom rung off a friendly gym.
Re: Pokémon Go
Photobucket's back up, so here's yesterdays action.
I held these 2 gyms at the park for all of 4-6 hours. I still ended up with 6 today. Which is a shame, because I trained well in one of them.
This gym here is VERY high-traffic, and I'm still in there today. First picture is me putting Wigglytuff in Thursday afternoon, then I went back to it yesterday and notice the new level about 24 hours later. I'm not even at the bottom! I'd love to be here a few more days!

Re: Pokémon Go
Today ended up being good, if not relatively short.
Went downtown to the arts and crafts festival. It's always nice to walk around and look at things. That I can now pick up items and catch some Pokemon while I'm there is just a bonus. While I was there, I noticed that the gym I'd knocked down to Lvl 8 was now down to Lvl 7. I had kind of expected it to be back up to Lvl 10, but I guess someone came in to beat it up some more. If I hadn't been with other people, I'd have gone over and beat on it some more
Instead I drove around and noticed that a nearby gym that had been Red a couple weeks ago was now Blue. So I went over to it and realized it was the gym in the cemetery. I felt a little uneasy going in there, but I made a quick drive-by-drop-off, said a little prayer, and continued on my way.
As I was heading off to lunch my 10k egg hatched into:
Lapras (1680CP)
Hurray!
I'd been hoping for one of those instead of another Scyther. It doesn't have the best moveset I don't think, but it's highly appraised and will make a nice new defender, me thinks.
Then I headed off to the store. As I was getting ready to leave, I noticed an Onix shadow pop up. I think this might be the first time I've seen one. I headed towards the back of the store and it disappeared
Headed back to the front and it showed up again
Walked to the right and it was gone
Walked back to the left and *pop* back on the radar
Figured the little bugger must have been somewhere in the parking lot. So outside I went and after a little driving around the rock-snake finally showed up just at the edge of the parking lot.
Onix (400CP)
He's a weak little thing, and doesn't look like it can get much stronger (which I find very odd), but I'm happy to finally have one.
So yeah, that was my day. I've already used some stardust and candy to level Lapras up to over 1800CP. Now that I have one, I might actually be tempted to switch him out with Dratini as my walking buddy so I can level him up some more. He climbs 40+CP with each level up, and considering what's left of the arc, it looks like I can get him up to 2100 or damn close when he's maxed out. Decisions, decisions...

Re: Pokémon Go
ANY Lapras will make a great defender. It always leads me to think twice as to whether its worth it to fight it OR train. It has weaknesses being Water/Ice, but its HP and powerful attacks make it top-tier.
As long as it doesn't have Dragon Pulse, you're ok. Both quick moves have a negligible difference in DPS, being both Ice-type, and out of the 3 charge attacks, Blizzard is best followed by Ice Beam, but again, those are Ice-type so STAB is applied. Dragon Pulse has the lowest DPS.
Translation: I still need one.

Re: Pokémon Go
Update time, be on the lookout for 0.45.0/1.15.0.
You’ll earn bonuses for the first Pokémon catch and PokéStop visit each day. You’ll receive a larger bonus when you do this seven days in a row.
When you defeat the Gym Leader at a rival Gym, there will be a brief period of time where only you will be able to place a Pokémon in the open Gym.
The amount of Prestige a rival Gym loses when you defeat a regular Gym member has increased. The amount of Prestige gained by training at a friendly Gym has been lowered.
Gone will be the days of level 10 gyms around here, at least. I was enjoying a 40-60 income for the past month. But at least I can finally take down some of these level 10 Mystic strongholds.
There have also been reports of speed locks if you drive by Pokéstops too fast, you won't be able to get the items, so heads up.

Re: Pokémon Go
I can safely say those pricks added speed lock as a couple spots along the main road off mine you can do 45 by and it would say no right now to me and I was pissed. Also variety changes are in got a tentacool two ponyta and a magmar today among others. I'd be lucky to get a fire type or two a month but three in a day never.

Re: Pokémon Go
Yeah the variety has bumped here a million fold. Freaked out when my wife, my daughter and I went to the park to walk and I caught 16 bulbasaurs! I hadn't seen a single one since the game launched. Ready to evolve all the starter pokemon to their next stage!
