Here is a great article on Metroid Prime for those of you playing it this summer:

Neat. I'm playing through Prime right now too, despite not posting my list.
It is such a great game. I enjoyed the sequels, but the original blew me away. (I am actually replaying Super Metroid right now - at my children's request - and I may follow it up with another trip to Tallon IV.)

It's been cool so far, except the controls (playing the Wii version). I'd started it on Gamecube a long time ago (as in, I got the game free when buying a Gamecube for Wind Waker), but didn't get too far.

So I'm still working on Resident Evil 4, just finished Chapter 3.2. That maze was way easier than I thought it would be.

Thought so far: I love it. Carting around Ashley was a little annoying at first but she never really got in the way, to my surprise. The boss fights are amazing. In terms of my loadout, I always buy the bigger case as soon as it becomes available, since being able to stock pile is very important to me in survival horror games. I have the Red 9 pistol, Riot Shotgun, and whichever sniper you get second. I always carry a ton of grenades, and try to use health sparingly. Only died about four times so far. Playing on Normal.

My only complaint, (and maybe this is just little ol' desensitized me) it's not that scary. The only moments where I was close to being in a state of get-me-the-fuck-oughta-here fear was in the sewers, and fighting that wolverine zombie thing in the prison (sweet god damn.)

Also, Leon's dialogue is really funny.

I'm about half way through. I'm really liking it so far, and can't wait to see what happens.

Metroid Prime is my most favorite game of all time. Many surprises lurk behind every corner, and the environment is just breathtaking. Enjoy this amazing title.

Sounds about right. RE4 really isn't scary, though it does have moments of intensity, particularly at the very beginning if you've never experienced the game before. But overall it just doesn't have the impact of the earlier games in the series.

Anyway, I'd say you're right to purchase the largest case first, to ensure you have the needed inventory space. You'll eventually end up with so many items filling it up, you'll start having to make some hard choices. You're also using the weapons that I prefer. A couple of suggestions: go for either headshots or kneecaps on the normal guys, run right past enemies you don't need to kill, and don't ever stop moving or let yourself get caught in a narrow corridor. You're doing great so far.

In the middle of disk 3 in FF9 and I already have a pretty big laundry list of complaints and criticisms. One of the most frustrating things of all has to be trying to escape from battles - the ATB system becomes absolutely brutal because the enemies constantly pound you when trying to run away. On top of that, it seems Square didn't want players running away from fights because it takes forever - I tried to escape for more than two minutes once (I timed it) and just ended up resetting my console. That's pathetic.

Zidane learns the flee abiltiy from early game equipment, is always in your party, and is fast enough that he basically always goes first. Just use that.

Or don;t run away at all, which I personally tend not to.

I'm aware of the Flee ability (which costs money, herp derp) but Zidane isn't always in your party - I'm in the Desert Palace now with only my secondary characters and some very annoying enemies. It seems extremely unnecessary for Square to have hobbled the escape feature like this - one of a few things I'll be mentioning when I finish the game.

EDIT: He's definitely not usually going first either - it takes 10 full seconds for your bar to fill up and seems completely random as to who gets a half-full meter. Speed doesn't seem to have anything to do with it.

There are centaurs in Tomb Raider? I thought it was "realistic."

you thought it was realistic after I complained about a T-Rex in the first level?
