oh, and i totally missed the G&W cameos. sweet.

I'm not totally sure. I think you just have to go on the next beat (or off-beat) as soon as she says her last syllable. I actually have a superb rating on both Love Raps, but it took some effort, especially for the second one.

I beat Super Mario Galaxy 2 last night ... which means I'm still less than half way through the game.

15. Warhammer 40K: Space Marine (360)
16. Mighty Switch Force (3DS)

18. Saints Row: The Third (360)

26. The Darkness II (360)
27. Sega Vintage Collection: Streets of Rage (XBLA)
28. Sega Vintage Collection: Golden Axe (XBLA)
29. Need For Speed The Run (360)

I had already lost faith in EA-developed Need For Speeds by the time The Run was announced, and all the marketing done for its quick-time sequences did nothing but sour my opinion of it. I completely ignored this game, and decided to throw it on my Gamefly Q out of morbid curiosity.

I don't know if it was my incredibly low expectations or just extremely poor marketing, but I loved this game. The soundtrack, the environments, the scenarios, the car handling and the AI were all fantastic. There were only 3 (really bad) QTE's in the entire game, totaling maybe 5 minutes of my 2+ hour journey across the USA. Those were definitely the low-lights of the experience, but not low enough to ruin the game as a whole.

Even the multiplayer is designed well. Taking some tips from recent FPS's, multiplayer races are organized within playlists, and each playlist has a list of challenges to complete to earn XP and unlock stuff like cars, profile icons and titles. Too bad nobody really plays it anymore, though.

Not everyone is going to love it like I did. Something about racing from San Francisco to New York is really exciting to me, and makes for a wide variety of settings: urban, freeway, desert, plains, mountains, forest, snow, rain. I'm sure any racing fan could find something to love about it.

I heard The Run had really bad rubberband AI. Thoughts on that?

I've experienced much worse rubberbanding in other games. I felt that if I took first in The Run, I could hold it. Usually if an AI racer caught up to me out of nowhere, it was earlier in the race and I'd have a chance to take my spot back. I never lost a race to an opponent that suddenly doubled his speed at the last moment.

If anything I noticed the rubberbanding working in my favor in most cases, where a hard-fought first position was usually won in the last stretch. I still hate rubberbanding in general, but that's a much more favorable scenario than the reverse.

You might as well shave your head now, couple of those special-world stages'll have you ripping your hair out anyways.

Super Castlevania IV.
I'm not keeping a tally, so I may have already beaten it this year. Simply adore this game, always have. The beginning of the game sets the mood perfectly, and although the learning curve changes a bit after you enter the castle, you always have to watch your step.

Just about everything in this game is perfect, and I'm sure I'll be playing Super Castlevania IV again this year.

Yeah, I'm noticing that. Who says all modern games are easy?

THOSE WHO FAIL AT AWESOME!

Honestly though, wait 'til you clear Stone Cyclone, I don't think there's a gaming achievement quite like it. This is, of course, without even darting for the Star Coin, which is a whole other bag of misery on top.
