Watching Adult Swim's April 1st prank. They decided to switch over to Toonami for the evening! Original Dragon Ball Z, Gundam Wing....

It is like I'm a kid watching Anime for the first time all over again.

Is the prank that it's only for one day? Toonami is an upgrade to regular Adult Swim.

I'd agree with you there. It is just a big tease!

They have even made new bumps between the shows and commercials. They did a review of Mass Effect 3. The classic Toonami jokes in a well worded quick review.

I'm going to be so bummed tomorrow with Adult Swim. They hardly play good Anime any more at all. Luckily there is Full Metal Alchemist and Durarara; but Bleach sucks and I can only watch FLCL and Cowboy Bebop so many times.

Well the good news is the Bleach anime just ended (Japan's run). Looks like it won't be finishing up completely with the manga, which is also ending soon I believe. Goes to show how far it's fallen. Oh well. :P

Make room for Fairy Tail, Toriko, the Hunter x Hunter remake, and the new Saint Seiya Omega!

Not sure if this has been mentioned (since there are like 60 pages to this thread), but I watched High School of the Dead a couple of weeks ago. It's only 12 episodes long, so even if you just watched it for an hour a day, it would take you less than a week to see the whole thing. It's pretty good, too.

That almost makes me want to pick the series back up and finish it. Not sure if I still have enough interest anymore though.

At any rate, I have high hopes for the new Hunter x Hunter. It's driving me nuts to have to wait until they finally catch up with the old one.

Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai

Its only been subbed so far, but its pretty funny. I'm 4 episodes in. Good mixture of clever humor, good characterization, and boobs. The image below explains it all in one sentence.

Are you watching it? I'm keeping up with it (episode 25 just hit) and it's pretty great. The only real weakness is that the music is generally pretty terrible, even comparisons to the original series aside, it's just generic as it gets musically lol.

Greed Island should be an improvement since those OVA's weren't that great, but beyond that I don't know if I'm that excited. I think the Chimera arc was just straight up terrible, I hope the anime trims it down and speeds up the pace on it, and the fighting should be a lot cooler animated, but yeah. That arc... was a different series.

I'm following it now. I never followed the OVAs or manga, so Greed Island and beyond will all be new to me. I agree that the music is really meh. One other thing that bothers me about the new one is the coloring. This might sound strange, but I feel like a lot of the digital coloring in it comes off as... generic? I felt the same way about Slayers Revolution/Evolution R. Maybe that's just my nostalgia kicking in.

Isn't the Chimera arc pretty big though? I've heard it's like half the manga so far. If it's no good, that would indeed be a disappointment. Besides all that though, I'm pretty stoked for Heaven's Arena and Yorknew city.
