First 50 Games for 2010 (Click for names)
New Super Mario Bros. - DS
Dead Rising 2: Case Zero - XBLA
Left 4 Dead 2: The Passing - 360
Fable II - 360
Fabie II: Knothole Island - 360
While I enjoyed Fable quite a bit, I completed the whole game without dying, I felt like it really held my hand every step of the way. I have the GOTY edition so the DLC is included, Knothole Island was fun, reminded me of a Zelda a bit with the different temples.

Truth be told, I've spent more time beating some of those iPhone games than I have some of the others in my own list - especially arcade titles. Games from my own list like Angry Birds or Need for Speed Undercover easily require four-five hours or more to get through everything, and so I see no problem counting them. Hell, most of the iPhone games on my own list took more time than the games I list for NES, MAME, PSP, or some others...anth0ny wrote:And personally, I don't think iPhone games and dlc should count but that's just me.
Re: Games Beaten: 2010
I agree, I count DLC because it is extra to the game, most DLC takes anther hour or two to finish, so I like having it on my list.

I've mostly been playing Castlevania Curse of Darkness on the xbox, and it's not a game you can beat overnight. Apparently for me, it's not a game I can beat in a week either. I'm probably getting less than an hour of gametime a day, so it's frustrating to go back to a game that involves a lot of backtracking where you can't remember where you need to go. I've been tempted several times to look up an online faq, but I wouldn't include a game as "beaten" if I cheated. It was kind of a grey area with Super Ghouls n' Ghosts, since I did beat the game, but the GBA port allows you to save at the end of a level. Not quite the same achievement as beating it on the SNES.
I would like to play more over the weekend, but Saturday's have become my only real "free day", and Sundays are for cleaning the house, getting ready for work, and watching football. Hopefully I'll be able to add Curse of Darkness to my list by the end of next week.

Re: Games Beaten: 2010
When I say I "sort of" beat a game, I usually got to the last boss, and either gave up or lost interest. For example, I sort of beat Final Fantasy IX. That may not be the definition he uses, but that's just my 2 cents.noiseredux wrote:what does "sort of" beat DuckTales mean?
Re: Games Beaten: 2010
I thought he meant "sort of" new, as in he beat it for the first time in a long time.
Re: Games Beaten: 2010
The "sort of" is related to me saying it's "new".noiseredux wrote:what does "sort of" beat DuckTales mean?
I previously beat the game on the NES this year, this time it was on the Gameboy.
Re: Games Beaten: 2010
To be honest, most of the iPhone games that I've beat were all just as good and took as much time to complete as the average NES or SNES game. And I don't really see why iPhone games and DLC "shouldn't count". It's not like its a competition, I'm really just using this topic to keep track of what I've beat this year, not to show off. I've been on disability for the better part of the year so I've had more free time than your average working man or student.dsheinem wrote:Luke wrote:If you keep playing iphone games I'm sure you can do it.Truth be told, I've spent more time beating some of those iPhone games than I have some of the others in my own list - especially arcade titles. I didn't mean to imply that the iphone games shouldn't count, just that you'd be better off trying to reach 100 games by playing iphone games. I don't know of many games out now for the 360 that you can beat in just a few hours (well, at least games I'd like to play). I actually love some games that don't take that long to beat. Lord knows most gamers can beat Golden Axe with no continues in about a half hour.jfe2 wrote:dsheinem wrote:Truth be told, I've spent more time beating some of those iPhone games than I have some of the others in my own list - especially arcade titles.Luke wrote:If you keep playing iphone games I'm sure you can do it.
