Yeah, I never bothered to beat The Lost Levels. I made two great attempts at it on All Stars, but I end up losing interest. The challenge isn't frustrating, but I just don't find the game fun after a while.

I found a few warp zones, one of which skipping ahead to W7, so I didn't have to do ~10 of the 32 stages. I suppose if I had missed one then I wouldn't be as eager to finish up.

everyone says the gamecube is useless, but if you have the gba adapter, you could play gba games like pokemon on a 42 inch telivision.

My Gamecube has been regulated to standalone GBPlayer status too. Just need one of those Hori controllers...

IIRC, those Hori pads are sought after so they usually have a decent price tag. Pelican made a Gamecube controller very similar to the Hori controller.

The main difference is the D-pad. The Hori controller was shaped (exactly?) like a SNES controller, and its D-pad was very much like a SNES's D-pad. The Pelican controller is SNES-like in shape, and it has a D-pad that's more like a Genesis D-pad. You'll also notice that the Hori pad has L and R buttons like the SNES controller, the Pelican's L and R are slightly different. I've never used the Hori pad, so I really can't comment on how they compare. I bet the buttons on the Hori pad feel a little smoother than the Pelican. But I do own the Pelican controller, and for playing GBA games on a Cube, it's perfectly adequate.

The Pelican pad might not be too easy to find, but since they're not as sought after as the Hori pad, you should be able to get it for a good price. I found mine locally, I think I pad $10 or less for it. It's name is the Pelican Gamecube Retro Pad, if you wanted to search for it. Thought people might call it whatever they want, like Pelican Gamecube Gameboy controller.

The last real attempt I made at the game, I was trying to play every level.

I love how weird the Lost Levels got. World 9 was awesome.

Same here. I play my actual GameCube games on Wii.
