Microsoft finally dropped that stupid Kinect and beginning June 9th you can get the Xbox One for a more reasonable $399.

Still too expensive.

It's about time, the only thing it was used for were stupid dance games.

Not true, the mic in it for voice commands holds a lot of the appeal for use in games for me. Mass Effect 3's use of the Kinect was great.

There were several kids games last gen that my kids loved too. Sesame Street's Once Upon a Monster for example.

Sorry if the appeal for Sesame Street is lost on me :D . To me, it was a completely useless cash-in attempt on the Wii. It did appeal to a certain group of gamers with the many dance/band/sing games, as well as a few random other titles, but I still wouldn't pay more than $10 for one.

Kinect is not that similar to Wii controls, and I could see myself getting some Kinect games for my daughter if she was a tad older.

As for me, if I see an Xbox 360 game with a "better with Kinect" logo I tend to skip it and go for the PS3/PC port instead.

I think navigation on the One is nicer with voice, I wouldn't want to not have it there personally. Something awesome about turning on your Xbox with your voice or telling it to pause the movie.

I'm sure MSFT thought they had to do something to move some more units and dropping the Kinect and the price is probably a good start.

Yeah, that's because the Kinect wasn't motivated by the Wii. The tech that Microsoft employed in Kinect was floating around Microsoft well before the Wii. I think they saw the casual market that the Wii was getting and that motivated them to bring it to Xbox, but the tech isn't directed by the Wii at all.

It's lost on you now, sure. But that's just the type of thing I would have been clamoring for at the ripe old age of five.

Hell, even when I first saw the previews for it I thought it looked freaking adorable.

Heh, it is freaking adorable Michi. :) I also would've loved this game when I was five, but I had the Big Bird Egg Drop game on Intellivision or whatever it was called. Good way to get Turkey in the Straw stuck in your head forever.
