Re: 2014 Together Retro Calendar
after talking to isiolia, I decided to just go back to MSE for now. I'll keep Avira in mind if need be though, thanks man.

Re: 2014 Together Retro Calendar
Neither Schthack or Ultima are vanilla PSOBB. Both have changed things in different ways, such as new entirely new items as well as balance changes to old items (and classes).SpaceBooger wrote: Noise's AVG said Schthack had a virus, Avira (which I use) did not. I think they both are the same program just different servers. I just downloaded Ultima so I will double check this later.
It would be cool if we all use the same server to play together.
Though most of these changes only really have a big effect when you get to the end game. If you're just looking to play through the quests for a while with other Racketboy members you shouldn't notice much of a difference which server you choose.
However if you play with other random folks or continue on to end game level play you'll discover a lot has been changed.
Schthack is slightly more populous and can handle a bigger number of max users but has a lot more changes and additions than Ultima. Both servers also have different home brew quests available. Schthack also has quest rewards currently disabled, so you won't get any item prizes from stuff like the single player government quests. This is because people were using an exploit in the item creation system to dupe items and they haven't found a workaround for it yet.
I've played on Schthack for many years though so if I play that's probably where I'll be. I can also answer any questions that arise about that server probably.
There's also a wiki specifically for Schtserv that covers all of the item stats and drop charts and everything else you'll need to know here: http://pso.wikkii.net/
As for the virus flags just add exceptions in AVG or whatever you're using for the .exe files and you're good to go.

Re: 2014 Together Retro Calendar
Also an important thing for Schthack, you need the unitext update which can be found here:
http://schtserv.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=30246
You'll need to register for the forums to see it. Just unzip and drop it into your data folder and you're good to go. Otherwise stuff like weapons and mags will have incorrect names due to the changes that were made to the game.
Alternatively I've uploaded it here for your convenience: https://www.mediafire.com/?9nztynet06euxan

Does the Vita version of Metal Gear Solid HD Collection contain Metal Gear 1 and 2?
I feel I should know before I rush out to buy MGS3: Subsistence for next month.

Yep, it is the MSX versions just like the MGS3: Subsistence game.
