Battle Princess of Arcadias

Interesting game

At first, it seemed like a side scrolling beat 'em up kind of like Odin Sphere or Princess Crown. But then I got to the first boss fight, and suddenly I have a squad of soldiers, in addition to two extra fighters I can switch over to at will. The game starts telling me about battle commands and morale, and suddenly the game takes on a fun, tactical element to it

I'm intrigued, and the game has a good soundtrack and charming characters, though they are your typical anime tropes

The music goes from rock, to jpop in like the first half hour. It's pretty cool. In the first stage, you're introduced to the "battle princess" and a metal tune starts playing. I knew right there I liked this game. And when you get to the first real boss fight and have to lead your army into battle for the first time you get the cool jpop tune.

The visual style of the game has me itching to play the Odin Sphere remaster once I finish this

I'm a few years behind them, but Alien Vendetta is my current favorite. Incredible stuff.

The others I've played and enjoyed:

Hell Revealed 1-2
Community Chest Pack 1-3 (quality varies but there's some gems in there)
Memento Mori 1-2

There's more but I can't recall names.

I am juggling a few games at the moment. My wife and I are co-op'ing Yoshi's Wooley World on Wii U and having a blast getting in each others way and laughing.

I am also playing through Captain Toad and am surprised just how varied each level is. There always seems to be something new and exciting and every time I think I finished the game, more surprises arise.

I am also playing Dead Rising remastered and loving that. When the game first out. I played with my friends on Xbox 360 and we all had a hard time with the game. we had fun but we just kept dying over and over again with little luck. We couldn't even progress the story.

Now, with PC controls the game is a LOT easier. Mouse and keyboard controls makes gunplay much easier and it is essential when fighting psychos in the game. In an hours time I went farther in the game than I ever could before.

Lastly, I am giving another shot to, The Elder Scrolls Online. I played it in beta and did not enjoy it at all and I realized I needed to approach it from a different perspective. I was expecting it to be an MMO and it really isn't. I just have to ignore the crazy people running around and play it like a single player game and it is much more enjoyable, although it is the easiest elder scrolls game so far. No challenge whatsoever, but it is still early.

UPPERS (Vita)

This game is SOOOO silly. It reminds me a lot of AkibaStrip in that it knows exactly what it is, and isn't at all afraid to revel in it. You're a couple of huge, muscley dudes, tryin' to get popular with the ladies by beating up all the other muscley dudes. There're tons of rediculous power-fantasy nonsense and making dudes fly through the air with firework effects when you hit them, and tons of sexual-fantasy nonsense from all of the crazy jiggle physics to the slot-machine-esque game that plays to see if the groups-of-3-girls you impress are all wearing the same type of underwear. It's a liiiittle bit much for me, but I'm getting used to ignoring all of the ecchi Xp

I just wish I'd paid a little more attention in the tutorial, because there are certain technicalities regarding the acquisition of girl's phone numbers via completing their requests that I'm just not getting. It says I complete their requests, but it seems totally random on whether or not that will allow me to then go up to them and get their phone number. Sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn't. Very confusion for very completionist Partridge :/

Been playing a ton of Killing Floor 2 over the holiday. Of the currently 12 playable levels, I've beaten all of them on Suicidal and Hell on Earth difficulty. As for my current perk levels, two of my perks are maxed out at level 25(Berserker and Firebug), two more are 20+(Demolitions and SWAT), while the rest are all level 15 or higher.

I also started playing around a bit in Vermintide as the Imperial Soldier. I've been having fun with it. A lot of fun.

I've gotten back into 8 and 16-bit sports games. Playing a bunch of Bulls vs. Lakers on the Genesis, Extra Innings on the SNES, and Bad News Baseball on the NES. Those are my favorite eras in sports games before it got dominated by EA and roster updates.

Bad News Baseball is a game I have gotten into rather recently. I rediscovered the game and I had forgotten how good it is. The game is a perfect mix of arcade and simulation. It is pick up and play easy, but also adding enough depth to keep coming back for more.

I really want to pick up that game very soon!

Played a bit of Nightsky, the one of dozens of indie games on my Steam list I need to check out. It looked pretty cool and it's alright. It's amusing how much I vastly prefer 3D for ball rolling puzzle platformers though, like Super Monkey Ball, etc.

I think I'll just ask here, but does anyone have any opinions on these? I think half this stuff I got from the one or two indie bundles I bought ages ago, or... I don't even know. They just showed up in my Steam library. None of them look that appealing to me, but I want to give them an hour at least:

And Yet It Moves
Atom Zombie Smasher
Bit Trip Runner
Cogs
Gish
Gratuitous Space Battles
Hammerfight
Lone Survivor The Directors Cut
Lugaru HD
Machinarium
Osmos
Revenge of the Titans
Samorost 2
Shank
Steel Storm Burning Retribution
Superbrothers Sword & Sorcery EP
VVVVVV
World of Goo

World of Goo is great, you should definitely give that one a shot.
