I feel like they might be wrong on this. I read the original system specs and watch countless interviews and they said that any controller could be used to any system. Unless they changed that after the last delay then you should be able to do this still. Also, if that is the case they will probably allow the SNES controller for GB/GBA games since is has shoulder buttons like the GBA.

If that's true it'd be bloody brilliant. Waiting to see how the sound chip handles and also waiting to see if some hacking happens allowing play of hacked/way too expensive game ROMs (EarthBound and the Mother 3 English translation come to mind).

If this sucker kills HDTV input lag AND looks good on an HDTV AND allows me to use original controllers AND removes my fear of cartridge batteries dying AND has save states AND eventually (unofficially) supports ROMs for hard to find/English translation games AND has close to perfect sound...and and and and

I mean, how could you NOT buy one at that point? I recently sold off the bulk of my expensive cartridges because it was just too much to support a modern/HD home theater with new consoles AND a retro CRT setup. This truly sounds like a dream come true for the modern retro gamer. Hope it lives up to the hype!

I don't see any reason why you can't use any controller for any game. I saw tons of interviews saying you could.

GET IT HERE ALREADY -- this week has become way too exciting.

If MSRP is $140-150 I might hold off until confirmations of the save states actually working, the HD auto-scaler working properly and the controllers working 100% with every system the system supports. ALL of which are still murky on whether they exist on the retail units going out.

man, it drives me nuts when people say "Ness" and "Super Ness" instead of N-E-S and Super N-E-S.

It could be worse...I once heard someone asking about "sness" games. Noone understood what he was talking about until he pointed at something, and then everyone laughed because he was an idiot.

It grates on the ears doesn't it?

I dunno who started that shiz, but I've only heard it from internet/YouTube people. Never in real life.

I always thought those people were talking about Nessie, the Loch Ness Monster, and Super Nessie, the Super Lock Ness Monster.

But after watching that video, I am highly interested in a Retron 5.
