How is your Dreamcast gaming going on?
Re: How is your Dreamcast gaming going on?
Anything or anybody that can get our DCs back up and running is a good thing. So much great stuff here. All this talk about Shenmue 2 even.....

last night I ended up beating spiderman and I did play a little crazy taxi. I spent 3 hours on that system last night. That is the most time I spent on a system in a long time. Great games, great graphics that hold up well today. Fun arcade games fighters, shmups.
I just got kof 2002 and virtua tennis2k2 today. going to play those today. After I spend some time with those I going to play legacy of kain soul reaver

I don't know if anyone else has tried it but the Crazy Taxi port to Android is surprisingly great. It controls really well and has the original licensed soundtrack. It's honestly the best port of the game since the Dreamcast that I've come across.
Honestly most of Sega's mobile library is pretty impressive.

my wife falls asleep with the TV on every night. As I was drifting off last night, I vaguely remember her telling me that the people in the movie she was watching had a Genesis. "And there's another grey console next to it," she said.
"Probably a Super Nintendo," I mumbled.
"No, it looks like a Dreamcast."
"Oh... well that's even cooler."

not sure. Lifetime, about 10:00 or 10:30 last night...samsonlonghair wrote: So what movie is this?
The Glass House, starring miss Diane Lane.
And to stay on topic, I have to think that the Dreamcast is most likely my favorite console of all time. Though while I was building my PC, I sacrificed a lot of the collection as a quick way to raise funds. It also helped liberate me quite a bit from the compulsive collecting I was doing (that is to say, if I had any $ in my PayPal, I'd peruse eBay and blow it immediately). PC gaming has definitely gotten me out of that mindset, in that I know I can get pretty much any game I want *right now* on Steam, GOG, whatever. So there's really no need to hunt for things unless I'm going to play them *right now.*
At the same time, I wouldn't mind building my DC collection back up a bit. But I was thinking that what I might really try to do is only collect locally. Might be interesting to see how the collection would fill out if yard sales and thrift shops were my only real avenue for picking up games. I don't know... it's a thought. I'm in no real rush to get back into hoarding anything, haha. Plus I've got quite a few months before yard sale season anyway!

Crazy Taxi is probably the only video game that I consistently play on mute.Gunstar Green wrote:I don't know if anyone else has tried it but the Crazy Taxi port to Android is surprisingly great. Does anyone know if the Xbox 360 version (in the Dreamcast collection) has the original soundtrack? Just picked that up the other day.

I'd love to know which ports of Crazy Taxi have which soundtrack.
