Re: Too early to start talking about rare/valuable Wii games
I'm very curious about those two Endless Ocean games - they seem very relaxing, and the focus on underwater exploration is really neat and kinda unique in this day and age. I saw the second game at EB last night for 13.99 though, which is a bit more than I'm willing to pay.

They are still a bit too expensive for my tastes, too. Luke highly recommends them, however, and they are developed by Arika (the team behind the Street Fighter EX games) and are the spiritual successor to the developer's Everblue series. (Everblue 2 is available for the PS2 in North America, and it is a pretty sold games.)Retrogamer0001 wrote:I'm very curious about those two Endless Ocean games - they seem very relaxing, and the focus on underwater exploration is really neat and kinda unique in this day and age. So i just got on hold right now, the last story and pandoras tower and they have a ton of xenoblade. I have to wait till Friday to buy them so i need to look at gameplay to see if its worth buying. I did get that buck hunter pro game and samurai warriors 3 cub though.

Both the Angry Birds were initially overpriced at $39.99. They are now $29.99, I wait until I see them go for under ten bucks. I read mixed reviews on these but am curious how well the Wiimote works out as the mouse.prfsnl_gmr wrote:I have about 210 Wii games, and I am seeking 54 more:
Angry Birds Star Wars
Angry Birds Trilogy
Many of these are still a bit too expensive for my tastes, and the inexpensive games are generally unavailable locally. I check my local stores frequently, however, and I suspect I will be able to round off my Wii collection the next time Gamestop cuts prices.
I read Pandora's Tower has a frustrating lockup towards the end of the game requiring a hard reset of the Wii. Some workarounds have been posted, but still the pain of rebooting the Wii. Both look like interesting games, but since I already have Xeonoblade not sure if these have enough difference to justify a purchase.mas wrote:So i just got on hold right now, the last story and pandoras tower and they have a ton of xenoblade. I am chipping away at Angry Birds Star Wars on my 3DS right now. The Angry Birds games are very well-designed, and they are so much better without ads (which is why - despite the fact my family has multiple tablet devices - I am happy to purchase retail versions).CRTGAMER wrote:Both the Angry Birds were initially overpriced at $39.99. I doubt that I will spend much time with the Wii versions since I will have already played through them on the 3DS. They do, however, fit into a category of games I collect (i.e., 2D puzzle games); so, I will pick them up if I find them for $10 or less.

Just tried out Arc Rise Fantasia earlier. They weren't kidding about the voice acting being crap
. To bad there isn't a Japanese audio option. Everything else is great but the voices have little to no emotion whatsoever and they aren't synched with the characters facial animation well at all
.

It's still a pretty cool game, though.
Also, the spike in difficulty at the boss battles is insane.
Re: Too early to start talking about rare/valuable Wii games
After reading everyone's bookmarks on the wii games that are or may be rare or what thy want, I think there should be a list of some kind or something of that nature of a list of wii games everyone must or should own if getting a wii. My opinion on the must haves are
Mario galaxy 1 and 2 or one of the other
1 Zelda game or both
donkey kong country retruns
Mario kart
Kirby 20th anniversary
Kirby return to dreamland
goldeneye
smash bros
Metroid prime 3 or trilogy (I say get it now at gamestop while its still 40.00)
tatsunoko vs Capcom
no more heroes 1 and 2
red steel 1 and 2
The 2 wario games
punch out
Mario all stars
xenoblade
last story
Pandora's box
Right now im really tired from work and im sure there are more but those I think are the must have's if anyone is getting a wii. The last 3 on the list I chose because I seen gameplay on all three and they are beautiful and look like games that will give you a good experience.
Like I said im sure there are others but if you have any idea on the list then add more. Just think if you are buying a wii for the first time what would be the must haves in a wii. Xenoblade and Metroid prime trilogy and the Mario all stars and Kirby return to dreamland may be too expensive for some people so they may not get them. What are your must haves

Yes I do. They deliver exactly what they promise.prfsnl_gmr wrote:They are still a bit too expensive for my tastes, too. Played Elebits a bit today and I love it. Art style is awesome and the gameplay is pretty interesting. Your basically exploring the house looking for tiny creatures the size of a quarter which produce electricity. As you collect them you gain the ability to turn on more electrical devices within the room and your catcher(gravity gun) becomes stronger allowing you to move larger objects.
There is no real bad guy and the objectives are pretty easy but leave room to aim for high scores so overall it is pretty relaxing. The vibe of exploring the house kind of reminds me of mister mosquito for some reason which is a good thing
.
The story also sounds like it will be pretty interesting since you are playing as the only child of two researchers who study the elebits. They spend so much time researching them that the main character has grown to hate the elebits and secretly wishes they would disappear. He ends up getting his wish when a thunderstorm knocks the power out to his town. His parents rush off to their lab and he is stuck at home, but he is fine with that his favorite tv show is about to come on..... but without elebits there is no power to run the television. So he grabs some of his dads capture gear and starts collecting elebits that are hidden around the house.
I really don't know why this game is only $2.69 with a power up card I highly recommend it. I don't really see any reason for it being this low only thing I could think of is it being really short but looking around it looks like the average play time for the main story is 7-8 hours with speed runners nailing it in a little over 4 hours.
