@Luke

I've noticed that people who are really into Golden Axe always choose the dwarf. Is there something special about him?

Well, in the original arcade game the dwarf yielded the Golden Axe. Not sure why they axed the golden axe in ports.

The dwarf 's weapon seems to have the longest range, his jump attacks are more reliable, and I could be wrong but his head butts seem to do more damage. His magic gauge is also the easiest to fill.

I usually pick Thunderhead (the dwarf) too, but when I was a kid I always chose Tiris (the female warrior) because you could see her butt cheeks.

The dwarf's standard attack is much stronger, and since you rely on the standard attack so much in Golden Axe, playing as the dwarf makes the game much easier. (IMO, selecting your character at the beginning of a single-player game is like selecting the difficulty: dwarf = easy, warrior = normal, valkyrie = difficult.)

I actually think playing as Tyris is easier than playing as Ax Battler though. He's awful.

I'm always Ax Battler. :shock:

I shall certainly try the dwarf next time.
