What was the last movie you've seen?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Just because a movie's not a masterpiece doesn't mean you can't get enjoyment out of it.
The world needs stupid action movies. Something that you can watch and turn your mind off. Commando is the best example of all time:
 I loved Commando. Actually, I like most stupid action movies, but Arnold always makes things a little better.
NSFW, violent as shit...

So yeah, I enjoyed it. Was it a good film, no, but neither are Deathwish 3 and Commando.
Some would say the same about the awful, terrible TRANSFORMERS franchise.

And please, don't compare Commando to stupid punch. To say something is entertaining is one thing, to say something is a good movie is completely different. Sucker Punch is an awful movie. Entertaining to some, sure. But a good movie? Fuck no. Fuck, fuck, fuck no. As a movie it is complete garbage with absolutely no merits (Commando at least had Arnold picking up, and using diving flippers in the film).

It's really subjective, but I didn't mind Sucker Punch either. It was entertaining enough, but a little boring.

There are just two ways to view it, there are movies that are just good, and then there are movies that are just fun. To take two recent examples:
- Fast 5 is not a good movie. But it was the first movie in several years that had me yelling support for the main characters. And when the Rock and Vin Diesel started fighting, it was just awesome.
- Drive Angry was a terrible movie from all aspects of what makes a good film. The plot was terrible (Nick Cage escaped from Hell in an American muscle car to save his grandchild from a cultist while a collector from hell chased him. Oh and he stole a gun that erases you from time) and the acting was Nick Cage level, but the movie was full of awesome fight scenes, decent quotes, and alot of cheesy 3d effects (even on the 2d version. It was just a fun rush.

Would I tell all my friends to go see either of those movies, no. Would I get some friends to my house and watch them while hollering, well we have done that twice already for Drive Angry.

I'm not joking when I say I'd rather we just switch gears and talk about chickflicks already.

I agree that subject matter is subjective, but dear God that shit of a movie, judged as a film, is awful.

But hey, I like Full House. I like shitty shit, but shit that is just shit I don't care for.

That didn't make any sense did it?

I would say that I am not too familiar with the genre besides How to Lose A Guy in 10 Days.

You Got Mail is a great remake of Shop Around the Corner which was a great film based on a soso French play called Parfumerie. It took the leads to really sell it - Jimmy Stewart/Tom Hanks and Margret Sullivan/Meg Ryan. You Got Mail even has Dave Chapelle in it.

Also Sabrina, both versions, is a fantastic film in all regards. So if you like Audrey Hepburn, go with the original, if you like Harrison Ford, go with the remake.
