So I tried to play Wizardry today. Um, wow. I don't even know where to begin. I mean really, like how do I play this, I think I need to read a manual. Seems very abstruse.
Let strength be granted, so the world might be mended...so the world might be mended.

You do. Seriously, try seeking out the manual. They are vital for understanding those games.

While I probably prefer the original, Prime 3 is a lot of fun. Do you have the "lasso" yet? That is perhaps one of the greatest Metroid weapons of all time, and it made me really enjoy the motion controls in that game.

1) Alladin (MD)
2) Rolling Thunder 2 (MD)
3) Megaman X3 (PS1 version)
4) Flashback (MD)
5) Sonic CD
6)The Legend of Zelda: Link to the Past (SNES)
7) Crash Bandicoot 2 (PS3 store version)
θ) Donkey Kong (GB)
9) ??
10) ??
I just finished Crash Bandicoot 2. I HAAAAAAAATED this game. HATED it. I mean, what the hell? This was supposed to be one of the most boring and safe choices on my list.

I liked Crash 1, and I LOOOOVED Crash 3. This was supposed to be the game in the series that refined 1 into what was to become the greatness that is 3.

But the game fails because of so many minor level design issues, which though existed in the other crash games too, they weren't this common and this frustrating.
  • Dodgy hitbox. Seriously, the enemies killed me way before Crash's model touched them.

The spin attack is just way too short for the kind of enemies you have to take out, and thus you have to get really close to them before you activate (which combined with the point above is very annoying).

The mini-games suck. Crash 3 had the tiger and plane and bike levels which were really fun (boat level not so much). But here the water ski level sucks.

Jet Pack levels.....SERIOUSLY, did anyone playtest these stages before the game shipped? Look Naughty Dog, you went to create some amazing shit, but this I hope was a lesson to you. Just because you built a gameplay feature, it doesn't mean you have
to use it in the final product.
Thank god that's over.

Now I think I will continue on to Sonic CD which I just bought on PSN :D

I'm a little surprised someone loves Crash 1 and 3 and absolutely hates 2. I never played them, but it's certainly not something I'd expect.

I'm not sure about a lasso. I hsve the grapple beam and the swinging upgrade for it, nothing lasso-like yet.

The most recent equipment pieces I picked up were the ice missiles and the ship missiles.

Will you guys be attempting a straight run through? Just as a tip, there is a level select code (BC you can't save) if you need it. I believe they added this feature in for PDZ.
I wish I could add it to my list. I have the game and the system, but both are "survivors" of Katrina. Unfortunately, they weren't as strong as my Dreamcast. I fear I'll never get to play the Saturn. :(
I feel you Jinx. My NES & games were destroyed a few weeks before Katrina (Hurricane Rita). I've slowly been building that collection back up.

That's probably it. For some reason, I really, really enjoyed using the motion controls for the grapple beam/lasso to pull away space pirate shields and yank things off walls. Just thinking about it puts a smile on my face. :)

1. Shining Force II (Genesis) *started playing*
2.The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages (GBC) *started playing*
3. MediEvil (PS1) *stopped playing*
4. Turrican (Genesis)
5. Duck Tales (NES)
6. Commander Keen in Invasion of the Vorticons (PC) *started playing*
7. Eye of the Beholder (SCD)
8. The Last Blade (Arcade) *"beat"*
9. Alex Kidd in Miracle World (SMS)
10. Zork (PC)

Ok, The Last Blade is done, although the idea of a $1 clear was laughable. I was happy to get to the boss on less than $2. My wrists are sore. Great game, beautifully done, wonderful fighting system - it might be high on my list now of favorite SNK fighters and I am glad I spent some quality time with it. Those last bosses (yes, there are two) are both brutal, though.
