Shoulda just gone out and said "Earthbound is a terribly bad game" instead of beating around the bush like that.

But rather it's the obsession with getting a terribly bad game like Earthbound that's my point.

I think Earrhbound is good but not great. But definitely overpriced.

Man, I never had a problem with that game's music. I remember being pretty puzzled when years later I found out online that a lot of people really hate the Sonic R soundtrack.
Can you feel the sunshine?
Does it brighten up your day?
Don't you feel that sometimes
You just need to run away?
Reach out for the sunshine
Forget about the rain
Just think about the good times
And they will come back againI freaking love the music in Sonic R. When I later learned so many people disliked it because it's vocal heavy, I couldn't understand since almost everyone has no problem with Sonic Adventure and Sonic Adventure 2 (and others since) were also very vocal heavy. No one complains about
"Rolling around at the speed of sound" in fact many feel obligated to join in and sing the rest with you.

I think it's the style of music over the vocalism. It's just not very good racing or Sonic music, even if the composition technically holds it's own.
Hence why I like to turn the lyrics off. Not only can I sing myself if I want to, but, the soundtrack takes on more of a dance vibe that's less intrusive during gameplay.
Regarding Sonic R... I think it's really quite a good racing game which is a bit controversial in itself. I feel like nobody even bothered trying to press B to accelerate or use the 3D pad and shoulder buttons to play. Once you get to grips with the controls, you can run the courses incredibly quickly and smoothly.
If I have any complaint, like most 32bit racing games, it needs more tracks.

Maybe risk wasn't the most accurate term, but its undeniable Nintendo deviated with the majority of their franchises during the 6th generation.
Majority of their franchises is a pretty strong statement.
Smash Bros, Animal Crossing, Mario Kart, Mario Tennis, Twilight Princess, Pokemon Stadium and F-Zero aren't wildly different. I wouldn't call Windwaker ambitious either just because it is cel shaded (which was starting to become trendy around then), it made a few fanboys whine because Link was a kid again, but I don't see how it is any more unique than any of the other Zeldas.
I don't really think risk when I think of Gamecube. To me the Gamecube was just a more powerful n64.

I've always found dance and club tracks to be excellent racing music. Although, the music certainly is from it's own time period. Daytona USA had some incredibly cheesy music that was also awesome.
" I wanna fly sky high
Let's go together
I wanna fly sky high
Let's go together
I wanna...
Yeah, hey, oh
Yeah, flying high
Feeling good
Blue, blue skies
Blue, blue skies, I see"

The best wrestling game is on the Genesis, because I can play as Papa Shango.

YES! WWF Royal Rumble on the Genesis was fan-freaking-tastic. Even though I was always Undertaker, Papa Shango was my 2nd favorite. I think I want to bust this out again now.

He was pretty awesome in that game. Which one was that, Royal Rumble?
