I'm being pulled in my 3DS a lot now, since it's so easy to pick up and play. I downloaded and tried Shantai Risky's Revenge, Mighty Switch Force and Pushmo, all of which seemed like decent enough games for the price I paid for them and I'm also five worlds into Super Mario 3D Land
When I'm not absorbed into my 3DS I am working my way through Sonic Generations and enjoying every minute. I have Zelda and Skyrim on the backburner for the moment. I'm actually reading up on some tips to prepare myself for the massive undertaking that Skyrim seems to be and I'm also waiting for some days off I have next week so I can devote some quality time to it.

My Backloggery will be stating it within the next day or two:
Shenmue II PAL version (DC) -- FINALLY got it today. Hong Kong sure is a far away place from Japan! Slightly different mechanics -- starting out a bit slow but having fun with Lucky Hit (Chinese Plinko) and the other ways of making money. Can't wait to play the awesome Sega arcade games!
Golden Axe Warrior -- will be doing this in the Together Retro thread.
Truxton -- if it wins in the Shmup club thread!

Re: What are you playing?
Wow, playing No More Heroes PS3 and Harvey (4th rank battle) is really getting on my nerves. I'm generally very patient when it comes to games but this is pissing me off. Anyone have any tips for when he traps you in the box and you have to move the analog stick around to escape? I just can't do it. The boss itself is a very easy battle, probably the easiest yet, but when he traps you in the box and you have to waggle the analog stick around, I die every time.
I think it's pretty messed up that whether or not you can progress in the game depends on how well you can smash the analog stick around. I also think it's pretty funny though since I like sadistic and humorous game development.

Super Mario 3D Land. I have most of the star coins, but still need a few more to unlock the last two levels in Special World 8. I don't know if it's worth it to be honest, I've sunk enough time into the game and most of the bonus levels are just rehashes of ones I've seen previously.
I'll probably do a playthrough of Otomedius Excellent tonight and then start Ys I & II on PSP tomorrow.

I've been playing this game for a while now and I definitely am enjoying it, but it's not exactly knocking my socks off. I have no actual complaints with the game, it's just that it feels too familiar. It's a Mario game through and through and I feel like I've seen this all before, just not with that cool 3D effect.
It feels like the game is going through the motions, while Sonic Generations on the 360/PS3 is a game that feels like it has a rejuvenated Sonic with a new lease on life
Anyway, I downloaded Soul of Darkness from DSiWare and played a little bit of it today. So far, it's not a bad, little game for a measly five dollars. It's a Castlevania clone through and through, but it has personality and is fun to play. It does a few things I haven't seen in other Castlevania games. Nothing truly groundbreaking, but just fun, little things that I appreciate
It's no where even close to being as good as any of the Castlevania games we've seen from Konami on the DS, but as a five dollar game it's fun enough for me to recommend. It feels like a really good, homebrew game from a Castlevania fan

I do wonder if Sonic Generations only feels so refreshed because Sonic games have been so average for so long? Maybe Mario's suffering from familiarity because they got the formula right too early

Re: What are you playing?
Just reached Xian in Golden Sun (GBA).
I don't think I fully understand the Djinni system. Why is it that I can't just give Mia's Zephyr, a wind Djinni, to Ivan? I don't want to trade it out for one of Ivan's current Djinni - I just want Ivan to have all the wind Djinni that I've found so far.
You're certainly allowed to have more than 2 Djinni set to each character, so why is this an issue?

As much as I want to open Assassin's Creed II, I've never finished the first installment, so I'll be trying to tackle that today. Seeing that I'm only a few hours in, I'm guessing I won't be getting to the sequel anytime soon.

FYI, I've got this one my trade list:

However I THINK that for levels 1-6 you can only have one of each element. And then it keeps increasing after so many levels.
