It's pretty cute when you can tell they don't understand what they're saying. Mine at a BBQ earlier this year:

Charlotte: I'm gonna eat you up!
Me: Oh, yeah?
C: Yeah, especially your bones!
Me: Uh...
C: I'll make bread out of them!
Me: ... you're freaking me out kid.

She's six. She understood exactly what she was saying. She just liked getting a rise out of my wife and me. (I cant' wait until she's a teenager... )

Little H: Hey dad! Guess what?

That's great. It reminds me of a recent conversation my six year old girl sparked up recently (we have twin girls)

Little A: Hey dad?
nullPointer: Yeah honey what is it?
Little A: If I stabbed someone would you tell the cops?
nullPointer: ...
What nullPointer said: Well yeah honey I'd probably have to. We're not a crime family after all! <nervous titter>
What nullPointer thought: Well ... I guess it would depend on who got stabbed and the circumstances surrounding this alleged stabbing

(Background context: we recently had an incident in our area involving an escaped fugitive, a full scale manhunt by law enforcement, road block checkpoints and whatnot. It was a pretty crazy deal for podunk Montana(!), and the kids understandably alternated between curious and rattled by the proceedings. It all turned out well though. Justice prevailed and they got their man without need of lethal force. Our other daughter (not the stabby one, LOL) insisted on dressing as a member of the SWAT Team this year for Halloween.)

I didn't "dress up" per se but did wear a Pac-Man t-shirt my wife managed to find in JC Penny.

(we tend to celebrate Halloween a little early through parties and functions and whatnot - trick or treating isn't really ideal in rural Maine).

Not quite retro, but it was Mario Maker so that kind of counts right? She has no interest in the TV and we don't set her down in front of it, but if Mario is playing, she always locks on.

Not retro video games, but somewhat retro gaming.
In my class we play review games for tests D&D style.
The class is broken into teams and each kid picks a Mage, Warrior or Healer
Wariors have 80HP and do 10 damage for each correct answer.
Healers have 50HP, hit for 5 damage or can heal other team members 20HP after "charging" the power for three turns.
Mages have 30HP, hit for 2 damage or can hit with an Elemental Blast for 25 damage after "charging" for three turns.

The Bosses they battle have HPX (which is HP times the number of players in the group). For this particular battle the enemy had 90HPX and did 16 damage to warriors, 12 to healers and 8 to mages.

The heroes charge or do damage for every correct question and get hit by the enemy for every wrong answer.
