Well, there is the argument that it's a survival skill. So it's probably not wasted time should everything go to crap. I'm not sure I can feed myself with my video game skills... although the increased hand-eye coordination might mean I'll be a better shot while hunting. ;)

Show me this PC and I shall arm wrestle it.

No, it's far funnier this way. I imagine your PC looks vaguely like the Nazi arcade cabinet in Kung Fury.

Well I do go hiking fairly often, and it is for the the nature solitude relaxing aspect. I like to strenuously hike to somewhere pretty and isolated, and then sit and soak in the ambience. I don't have to torment water creatures in tandem to get my amusement thankfully.

I have a custom build case to make it look like a 1/3 scale model of that.

Totally! Sorry, I wasn't trying to be grammar facist. The thought of testing physical strength against a PC gave me a case of the lulz ... which I sort of needed this morning, so thanks! FWIW, I'm the king of forum typos ... so yeah.

Precisely. The idea that we should apply some sort of "yard stick of worthiness" to the means in which people spend their time dicking around, is patently absurd. It's called free time for a reason. :)

No worries. Take a look at my yearbook picture from my senior year in high school.

What gods of gaming? My PC is probably as strong as or stronger than most people here.

Ill bite, are we going for one single computer or the cluster? Also how would you like to measure raw power? Is FLOPS acceptable?

Single computer. Measuring power, FLOPS would work, though I tend to think of power as a rather nebulous aggregate of CPU, GPU, and RAM components, making quantifying it a bit tough.
