If I were you, I would be very upset with your bank. How in the world did it take that long?
Well the thief did it all this afternoon across several stores within an hour or two radius, and my bank called me while it was still going on (they told me that the card had just been declined a few minutes prior), so I don't know what else they can do...

I will get the money back in a day or two, so it isn't a giant deal.

I had someone take 2k out of my account with one of those mobile card readers. It sucked because it stayed pending for several days, and the bank couldnt do anything while it was pending. It is actually tougher to get your money or fix it if it's your debit instead of credit card.

It may take a little longer but as long as you catch things pretty early, the bank has no issue with assisting. If you came back 8 months later it becomes more of a problem.

Any thoughts on how the thief got your card number? Do you primarily use the debit card instead of the credit card?

I do, but I am guessing they just randomly generated it.

Thanks for all the congrats, folks. :)
