He is weird and takes some getting used to, but to help you...he really is awesome. He plays VERY different than any character you are used to. In reality he plays exactly like how you would think Megaman plays.Xeogred wrote:We all saw it coming!
Not sure if I'll jump on it right now having just bought my PS4 and some games, but yeah. I know some of my friends are already planning some big Smash parties. Stoked!
I hope Megaman is awesome.

Re: Wii-U thoughts so far
My wife bought me Super Mario 3D World!
But it's gonna be a Christmas gift.
The current and upcoming first-party Nintendo games for the Wii U are off the chain. Captain Toad drops in a few weeks, apparently with a $40 MSRP. New Kirby looks amazing and I've seen a February release date.
I think Nintendo is saying "screw the third party developers, we'll do our own thing."
Will the Wii U end up with a stronger first-party line-up than the Wii? I think it's highly possible.

I think so too.BoneSnapDeez wrote: I think Nintendo is saying "screw the third party developers, we'll do our own thing."
I just want Splatoon and I want it now. Reeks of early 2000s Sega style weirdness and I LOVE it.
Can't say I've been disappointed with the direction Nintendo is taking really.
Older. Not wiser.
Re: Wii-U thoughts so far
As someone who actually loved most of Nintendo's Wii output even more than the Gamecube, if their lineup for the Wii U beats that, I'll be absolutely ecstatic.

totally reminded me of something that Sega would've put out in the DC era.
Re: Wii-U thoughts so far
Out of all the amazing looking gaming coming out soon, I think I'm most excited for Mario Maker.
Re: Wii-U thoughts so far
Mama mia, I'm so excited for this one too. What would be even cooler is if they could somehow implement more graphical styles into it though. SMB2, SMB3, SMW... in all honesty I don't think it'd be too hard especially with the older titles, you just need to throw in different blocks and various character sprites. DLC? lol. Mario Kart 8 proves that their DLC is high caliber awesomeness.Ziggy587 wrote:Out of all the amazing looking gaming coming out soon, I think I'm most excited for Mario Maker.
Yeah tons of good stuff on the horizon. I'm really excited for Captain Toad too haha.
If Metroid drops at some point, this will easily be the best Nintendo console to me since the NES/SNES.

Re: Wii-U thoughts so far
When I first saw Mario Maker, I was interested, but it seemed fairly shallow. Then I saw that its heavily inspired by Mario Paint. That brought it up a couple notches. But the game is still somewhat shallow.
We haven't seen it since E3, so I'm curious how it's coming along.

They really haven't shown/talked about a lot of details about the game. At least, not to my knowledge. I did read some where that they talked about having other game styles then just the original SMB and New SMB. I'm really eager to find out all the details of the finished game.Xeogred wrote:I'm so excited for this one too. Speaking about Mario Kart 8, there's some DLC that I'd really like to see. First off, as far as I'm concerned, there is no battle mode. They need to release at least 4 arenas for battle mode. Until then, it doesn't even exist in my book.Xeogred wrote:Mario Kart 8 proves that their DLC is high caliber awesomeness.
I'd also REALLY like to see a horizontal screen split option for multiplayer. I really don't enjoy the vertical split at all. It's especially bad for people that aren't familiar with the tracks, being that it has a much smaller field of view (you can't see turns and obstacles coming up). I really, REALLY want this to happen. Of course, this would be an update and not DLC.
I love Mario Kart 8, but these two things are really hurting local multiplayer for me.
Re: Wii-U thoughts so far
We have things like Lunar Magic and Reggie!, proof that plenty of people want this type of thing. And I think I read some where that you'll be able to play and share levels online. This could end up being my most played game for the console.Cronozilla wrote:When I first saw Mario Maker, I was interested, but it seemed fairly shallow. I read some where that some one at Nintendo (I forget who) was thinking about a new Mario Paint for the U, but had certain reservations about it. So when a team of people showed him the level builder tool that they made for New SMB, he was impressed with it and thought he'd do this Mario Maker game in lieu of a new Mario Paint game. I'm pumped for this Mario Maker that we're getting, but I still would like to see a new Mario Paint game. If only for nostalgic reasons. But even if Mario Paint isn't as relevant today as it was back then because every one has MS Paint, I still think they could make a fun game. Mario Paint wasn't just doodling. It was animation, music composing, and mini games. I think a game like that would be just as fun today as it was back then.
I'm kinda just ranting, don't mind me.
