Like most Paul Simon records, surprisingly heavy, incredibly orchestrated, and unforgettable.

Step outside of your comfort zone and have a listen.

^ I have that CD. Good pick. It's an interesting adventure to hear Paul Simon play with all those Brazilian musicians.

Love everything Paul Simon does/tries.

I love Billy Joel to no end, but my ears always say "Paul went one step further".

Really wish I could be the next Paul Simon and Jimmy Fallon could call me Al*.

*He could call me Al.

A game of horsehoes!

Spent around three hours listening to stand up sets last night. Lots of Mitch, Gaffigan, Regan, and some of my ol bs.

I had a set in second city that I'm a bit proud of (don't expect to hear it) as I got a roar of laughs. That's how I like it. Dead quiet for minutes, than a burst of laughter. Still gives me a rush just thinking about it.

WALKING DEAD party tonight followed by Poker.

Johnny Cash (and possibly some Hank Williams Sr.) will be played, and loud at that. I crap you not when I say my goal is to net half a grand tonight. My 5th year anniversary is around the corner and daddy needs a new pair of shoes.

This should probably be a PM, whatevs.

I guard my stuff something serious. In all honesty if you ever visit Eastern NC, I'll put on a show for ya, even a twenty minute set.

But truth be told, I do worry that my hobby could cost me my job or my reputation (or people associated with me). Not that I'm running for congress and not that I work blue, but I know some of my stuff could rub people the wrong way.

There are serious repercussions for speaking your mind, and although most of my stuff is family friendly, I like to play it close to my chest and stay off the I-radar. Pretty sure the only Youtube clip of me that is still available is something only titled with numbers. I know; it sounds weird, but I take a bit of solace in my bits. Sounds like a jerk to say it, but stand up is a hobby of mine and it's not something I want to just "put out". It's not a pride issue either...

boy am I not making any sense, am I?

In short, performing stand up is a release for me. Kinda like playing hockey. I'm proud of what I have accomplished, but would rather keep it to myself.

Some recent purchases on iTunes:

* A Lifetime of Adventure (Single Version) by Tuomas Holopainen, from the forthcoming concept album "The Life and Times of Scrooge" (musically inspired by the book of the same name)
* Du Hast by Rammstein (someone on YouTube said it has the same tempo as Katy Perry's California Gurls and now I wanna hear a mashup of the two)
* Amerika by Rammstein
* I Love It by Steam Powered Giraffe (cover of the Icona Pop song, done by steampunk band Steam Powered Giraffe)
* Let it Go by Idina Menzel, from the Frozen soundtrack. Funny fact: my oldest niece (who'll be 4 this August) is in L-O-V-E with Frozen and sings this song all the time. But I really just saw it on iTunes (for 69 cents, no less) and I really like Idina Menzel.
