I agree, feel sorry for you that they're so obtuse, just complete morons when it comes to handling paying accounts for games and systems. It's so random if they'll throw you under the bus or not despite any possible evidence on hand including their own records.

I'm debating just giving up on the system still but I know for certain if I do I'm going to double check I de-link my ID from the thing because if I ever did do this and get one down the line or games are transferable to yet another system I'd like to retain things.
Yeah. I'm in no rush. I can't play online on my connection right now anyways but I'd like to have the account linked to the new console. Waiting to hear back from email support. If they can't help me I'll escalate to phone and hopefully I wont have to make multiple attempts. Some people say it's far easier than it used to be though so my fingers are crossed.

I don't know why you'd give up on the system though. If I hadn't been in the financial situation I was in it would have never left my side. I like my PS4 well enough but the Wii U is the only console that has really consistently been worth the money in my honest opinion.

Also consider me a Smash fan guys. I'm sorry I didn't take the series seriously at all for so many years. This is seriously fun.

I see your point, and yes it is better to be on the phone with them this year, than even a year ago or worse in the Wii period. They burned me on something with the Wii and I lost something I paid for which soured me entirely against buying games from them online anymore under that old setup. This new one is at least fairly recoverable, but it's more work than necessary.

The reason I'm considering letting it go is for many reasons but people will just get mad at me for spitting out the usual supposedly 'fake' reasons they're tired of hearing as happy owners. Lack of games in general, lack of third party support, lack of unique titles outside of first party stuff, and to me a downward slide in quality of their first party console games too (wii and wii u) outside of a few stand outs. I can honestly say I doubt I've put more than 50hours on the system (probably half that) all year long if you account for the one that died, the new one I have yet to play a game on in like two months in having it back or whatever it is now. It does have a few ports, but they were also on PS4 or PS3(when I used that for gaming still) and were better done due to third party favoritism. And finally looking forward I'd buy Mario Kart if it were found for $30, Captain Toad, Xenoblade(maybe, seems larger than I can get involved in anymore due to my kid), and Starfox...so 4 games, maybe 5 if Zelda isn't open world. Of that entire list only Starfox would bother me not being able to play it. That's really it, a nutshell version of the thoughts I've had for awhile weighing keeping it or not.

It's certainly not for everyone. I find the first party games and exclusives far more compelling than the large portion of third party stuff on other systems. I have pretty varied taste in games as well so I've enjoyed basically every single "good" game that has come out for the system. If you don't care for kart racers or platformers it's probably not the best system for ya.

This one?

They're REAL Gamecube controllers. Yes, they'll work on a GCN and backward compatible Wii.

How amazing is it that Nintendo is reproducing a controller from two generations ago? When has that ever happen?
this is great! But I feel the price is a bit high, or am I being to stingy?

Was playing Smash Bros. with a friend last night and had a lot of fun. Remember those times when playing games was supposed to be fun?

.....yeah....I remember those times too.

I know it's satire and fake, but goddamn it if it doesn't hit the heart of the matter. Jesus!

Good point and it an amusing joke news piece (and site.) I love the Onion, used to have a few of their books lying around years ago.

Perhaps I have a minor form of rut, a Nintendo rut as the franchises aren't feeling very fun or fresh for me anymore and with their lack of stuff from other guys that is what the problem is because I really do enjoy the 3DS a lot still and I have slightly more 3rd party than Nintendo made stuff.
