Thanks to Mas post on this game, the reason I made that long drive.
Gamestop has even raised the price of a Nintendo Selects game! They no longer sell
Wii Pikmin 2 as new, only used at $29.99. By not calling and driving instead, I confirmed the game is sitting on the shelf at the Gamestop location, looked pretty good as a CIB used game. Gamestop is one of the cheaper prices when you consider the online prices which are starting to creep up. However, I did not buy it!
Due to a late release compared to Japan and Europe, this game only sold as a Selects twenty buck game here in the US. I suspect it has a lower production run due to the late release.
As mentioned, once in a while the game can be found on the cheap as new and even clearanced as Mas discovered at Best Buy. I found a store which I had researched ahead of time thru Google that has not one or two but
FIFTEEN new sealed copies of Wii PIKMIN 2 being sold at the standard Nintendo Selects price at $19.99. The pile of new Pikimin 2 games are buried behind a stack of Wii Call Duty game discs.

Could have bought a few extra to resell at a profit, but that is not me so just bought only one copy. Saving this location for only Racketboy members, anyone who lives in Southern CA can PM me for the store location.
Please no resellers, leave the others on the shelf so others can have a shot of a sealed potentially very expensive to buy at a later date Wii game!
Your very welcome but I wish you got the game as I did for 5.00. It probably was a mess up on the best buy in my area but whatever I got a copy and now I want the first one.

dsheinem wrote:I don't think there are any especially rare or exceptionally valuable Wii games. Am I completely wrong? I mean, there can't be more than a few games that fetch more than their original retail price, right? Were there really some with VERY limited runs? The whole thing seems silly.
Well there already
are rare/valuable Wii games, and yes there were games with limited runs, so this thread is right on track.. I don't see what seems so silly to you.
Not counting the few that have already become rare/expensive... Is it silly to speculate what games will go up in price? Games that aren't garbage and are only selling for $1-5, their price has no where to go but up. And I definitely remember about 10 years ago, NES, SNES and Genesis games were all much cheaper... look at the prices now. That'll be the Wii in 10 years.
What's so silly?

mas wrote:Is it wrong to not collect anymore and just buy games you want to play for the wii?
Of course not! Simply buying the games you want to play is perfectly fine. Some people like to play games and get rid of them. Some people like to collect games. I used to fall into the former category, but now I fall increasingly into the latter. (Don't get me wrong, I still enjoy playing games, I just have as much time to do it.) Neither is "wrong", however, and just as I do not begrudge people who trade in their games, they should not begrudge me for collecting them.

I agree. None of us can predict the future; so, the whole endeavor is silly. It is no sillier than trying to predict which team will win a basketball tournament, however, and I am certain that many of us will be doing that later this week. More importantly, trying to predict what Wii games will be valuable is fun. We should not take it too seriously, nor shoudl we get too upset when DSH trolls us a little bit.
