Although to be honest, with such few games, I don't like this set up at all. If you really don't like 2 of the games, you still end up voting for 1 of them. Seems a bit silly when we could just hold a normal poll for such a small selection.

If you hate 2 of the 4 Treasure shmups so bad then just don't participate that month. I dunno what to tell you. I'm not going to count a random half vote because you don't like Ikaruga or whatever and refuse to just submit a normal vote.

Sheesh. What is the big deal here? If I absolutely MUST have three, then let me pick a +2 for something that has no chance at winning anyway.

Yeah I love Toaplan but i've been bad about keeping up with Truxton. Only played it twice this month. I expect I'll do the same for Axelay but more because I really don't care for that game...
I've been busy enjoying my MVS cab.

Originally I wanted to just do a poll every month. That wouldn't have worked though because most developers have more than 10 shmups out there, and the max amount of options for a poll is 10. (I wanted to make a poll for devs with very few games, such as Treasure, but apparently the forum's poll systems aren't working right at the moment.) Next best choice is to just vote in the thread. Everyone just picking one game might end up in a lot of ties and such, also I didn't know how many people would have interest and bothering voting at all. By voting for three games that opens things up a bit, gets more votes out there in the event not many people cast votes, and by having a system where the votes themselves are weighted, that way people can pick more than one game, and give extra favor to the game they'd really like to see. Voting this way has been very smooth so far and has created minimal ties. If one or two game votes are allowed, that kind of ruins the point of it. It will make the voting process messier if people are just shooting out random "+2 this", "-3 that" votes. The point of everyone voting for three games is to create a big pool of votes among a small amount of voters, to try and get a more well rounded view of the general opinion of the nominations than would be possible with only voting for one game. Is it really so much to ask to just pick three games and be done with it? I don't think it's a convoluted system by any means, and there hasn't been any complaints up until now.

As for ignoring you before, that was unintentional. Sorry. Like I said I've been trying to keep up with the thread but I miss a few scores here and there. Just tap me on the shoulder and correct me like you did before.

I've had absolutely no issue with voting, the problem has just occured with the fact that this particular dev has less than 5 shmups Everything has been going pretty good here so far.

I see no problem with the voting as it is with a +3, +2, and +1 required. If it forces people to vote for games outside their comfort zone then all the better, as it might allow some more niche/unpopular titles to slip into the top spot. Keep it as it is - it works and it is interesting.
