We all know Bayonetta 2 is gonna get ported eventually, no sense getting worked up over it.
I'm not jumping on it immediately, but it's definitely something I want to play. The word I've heard so far is that it's better than the first. I thought the first was solid, but preferred DMC3 and DMC4. It was probably a bit better than DmC, but most of my gripes with that game had more to do with tone than gameplay.

You do realize Bayonetta 2 is published by Nintendo right? I wouldn't be so certain about it getting ported to anything.

There is precedent for this happening though, Banjo-Kazooie being the most obvious.RyaNtheSlayA wrote:You do realize Bayonetta 2 is published by Nintendo right? I wouldn't be so certain about it getting ported to anything.

Bayonetta is in complicated land -- The IP is owned by Sega, it's developed by Platinum Games, and while the original was published by Sega, the new one is published by Nintendo. In the case of the sequel, Nintendo funded the development, so the chances of it appearing on another system are pretty much nil. I'd love to see the contract that made it a reality.
(i.e. who gets paid, the percentage each of the three owns...)

That was a unique scenario -- Nintendo and Rare divvied up the IP during the sale, as there were certain properties Rare wanted to own (like Banjo). It certainly doesn't set a standard.Sload Soap wrote:There is precedent for this happening though, Banjo-Kazooie being the most obvious.RyaNtheSlayA wrote:You do realize Bayonetta 2 is published by Nintendo right? Killer Instinct and Perfect Dark as well. I get that the Microsoft buyout was a complex arrangement but that's also why I said precedent. It could happen again given the right conditions.
Re: Wii-U thoughts so far
It won't come out for another console any time soon. Nintendo published it and funded the development. Whether it ever sees the light of day on another console comes entirely down to Nintendo. They are the only ones who have any say in that happening and they aren't going to do it. Sure, you can't ever say "never", because, well, look at what happened to Sega and their games. But if you're holding out for a PS4 and/or Xbox One version, well, enjoy your long ass wait that probably won't ever lead to playing the game.... I'd rather just, you know, play the amazing game right now.

I'd rather play the definitive 1080p version in four years on the PS4Reprise wrote:But if you're holding out for a PS4 and/or Xbox One version, well, enjoy your long ass wait that probably won't ever lead to playing the game.... I'd rather just, you know, play the amazing game right now.

Unfortunately, I'm a sucker for those "definitive" 1080p versions of games

In 4 years, it should be smaller, cheaper and bundled with a bunch of top-tier games, so there's no harm in waiting I guess.dsheinem wrote:I'd rather play the definitive 1080p version in four years on the PS4Reprise wrote:But if you're holding out for a PS4 and/or Xbox One version, well, enjoy your long ass wait that probably won't ever lead to playing the game....
