I didn't watch the video yet, but I'll chime in anyway. :D

Yes, I've noticed this recently as well. I've played both games many many times, but I only recently noticed how short the levels are in SMB3 compared to SMW. And it's not just some levels, it's all of them.

And yes, Yoshi and the cape. I get the complaint that SMW took a step back in the number of power ups. But it didn't really need any more. It took the raccoon tail and perfected it with the cape. Sure, you only have the mushroom, flower, and star after that. But you also have Yoshi, the greatest power up found in any Mario game. SMW took the over world map from SMB3 and perfected that as well. All the worlds feel isolated in SM3, but not in SMW, they're all connected. You also have the Star World and Special stages, which feel like secret worlds you have to unlock.

That's not to say I don't like SMB3. I think they're both amazing games. I just think it's insane to say that one is by far better than the other.

meh, Sonic was better

Also, I guess longer levels just don't change my feelings :/. I mean my favorite 2D Mario game is Mario Land 2 and that had REALLY short stages, but I didn't mind.

I think SMB3 and SMW are brilliant. Perhaps my two favorite platformers ever. Tough to think of a bad game in that series, period.

It is excellent, and I really enjoyed how it utilized the 3D feature (never even have it turned on but I did for that game). I still think the first Zelda and Link's Awakening are the best in the series with that game a close 3rd.
What's your thoughts on Zelda II?

It's really, really hard. And I really, really suck at it. I haven't played it in years and years. I should probably check it out again sometime.

You mentioned in the Super Mario World video that you were planning to get all of the big names done. At this point you've reviewed Super Mario World, Super Metroid, Star Fox, The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, Contra III, Super Castlevania IV, Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy VI, Super Ghouls 'n Ghosts, Final Fight, Super Mario Kart, the Mega Man X games, etc. What other games do you consider the big names that you need to review?

EarthBound, Turtles in Time, Terranigma, Street Fighter II Turbo (maybe), Seiken Densetsu 3, Soul Blazer, F-Zero, Ogre Battle March of the Black Queen, Final Fantasy IV, the Donkey Kong Country series (I really don't like these games but I'll have to get around to it sometime) and Lagoon.

(Just kidding on that last one.)

But Lagoon is the best game of all time.

Your list has a few surprises(mainly Soul Blazer and Terranigma. I never really considered the series to be that big a name), but I agree with a lot of it. I think you should definitely do Street Fighter II Turbo, though you might consider adding in the other two SFII versions for just one big video so you can get them all out of the way.

Believe me I'm putting those games off as long as possible, until they're the absolute dead last thing left. I've just never liked any DKC game. Platformers all have their own rhythm and for whatever reason the rhythm of those games just never clicked with me. Plus the larger sprites make for a smaller margin for error which just doesn't work with me.
