How is your Saturn gaming going?
Re: How is your Saturn gaming going?
I looked at the disc only prices and I can afford game between 14-18 bucks. But yes I'm on a budget and I will take time to get this. It wasn't like I was buying this now. I'm just planning and looking at my options. Don't worry it's not like I use to be when buying which was 400 or so a month. Most of my recent pick ups have been in trades.

To be fair, isn't that port really bad?
Re: How is your Saturn gaming going?
I think it was a bad port. My retro store has it for 24.95. Could of gotten it but I own midway arcade volume 2 for ps2 and I'm ok with that port. I also have it on snes so I'm ok with playing mk2. Noise don't feel so bad I suck at mortal kombat games also

One port I remember being brutally difficult for some reason was UMK 3 on DS. It just seemed like if I won 3-4 matches, the AI would go ape-shit and just telegraph everything I did.

While I'm up at 1 am coughing up the rest of this flu I have or had, I'm on eBay just scoping things out and it absoultly amazes me how much money people are spending or what people think games are worth. I mean I can say that for any retro system but when they put the words hard to find or rare forget it.

It is. Although It looks decent visually out of all of the earlier home ports at the time, it performs horrendously on the Saturn hardware and the game's audio is even worse. To me the Saturn version reeks of a rushed production or perhaps the developer who handled the port couldn't harness the hardware capabilities of the Saturn. It could very well be a result of both...
Re: How is your Saturn gaming going?
To me the best version of mk2 is either the midway arcade treasures.... Actually if we were just talking about the 32bit era and the past I might have to say the 32x version was the best followed by the snes.
Cd Ages: do you think out of all the mk games out there people still hold a kind of passion for mk2? Because for me and anyone I've talked to weather from work or friends people love mk2 out of all of them

Yeah. Of course. The fact that certain regions today still run tournaments for it is a testament to the game's popularity. Same applies to UMK3 to which people still love to play it competitively after all these years.

Aren't all Mortal Kombat ports horrible... including the original arcade games...?
