I've no idea what this is but at this rate I may have to buy another NGPC to try it! I've also heard that playing the game on a regular NGP unlocks different cut scenes! Gah!
dammit. For a while I thought even I couldn't come up with an excuse to buy a B&W system and link cable... thanks.
Apparently running the system in Japanese rather than English makes "blood" appear in the game.
Strange that this was apparently hidden in the PAL version as the game has a 15 ESRB rating which I did find odd given that there is nothing particularly offensive about the game (tongue in cheek references to "Sakura surrounded by five guys" aside!).

It's hardly Mortal Kombat.

EDIT: Looking into the regular NGP thing I found out all that was referring to is that by plugging the game into a regular NGP you get various comical scenes of the characters saying the game can't be played on that system. Another nice touch but maybe not worth picking up a NGP for!

I'm stupid hooked on Card Fighters' Clash. Unreal how fun this game is. One thing I love is that it actually loads your save automatically if you want. Not a lot of cart-based games seem to do that, right?

It also saves automatically if your batteries run out or you power off. Handy...and prevents cheapness.

Only downside is it seems you can only have one save per cart.

I took delivery of my copy of Biomotor Unitron today.

Got it boxed and complete for £14.99 from a retro store. Looks like great value from the prices I see it going for online and I hear its a good game too.

Regarding Pac-Man. I had a go of the GBA version to check difficulty and I think you are right. The NGPC definately seems a lot harder, also I noticed that they made the sprites for Pacman and the ghosts larger on the full screen display for NGPC wheras they are originally proportioned on the GBA.

nice price on Biomotor. You're really cleaning up lately!

Ok, so I managed to earn my first coin in Card Fighters' last night. I took down the boss of the Capcom Plaza. I admit, it probably took me a half-dozen tries. But I really enjoy this game a lot.

Yeah, it seems that there are still bargains to be found in the UK if you avoid the traditional places where people are asking silly money (ebay!).

I was never that bothered about collecting boxes for the system but they actually look pretty stylish and unique and the manuals are actually really helpful instead of just full of useless junk. Worth getting!

I don't think I'll start Biomotor just yet. Will try and beat Cardfighters Capcom first then I might start a new file on Beast Busters and try that one again. Think I'll purposely call time on collecting for now (unless I see some bargains) until I've beaten some more of the eleven games I've assembled.

Once the first coin falls I found the others followed quickly. I'm on the final boss at the moment and....yikes! a lot more grinding for better cards needed before I tackle it again.

Have you discovered any sort of useful tactic for gambling your cards?

I think the game was really designed with the idea that people would invest a lot of time in the multiplayer as the amount of cards you have to feed into machines to gamble is sky high without being able to win them in 2 player battles!

I've also had no luck on the fruit machines and there is one character who keeps asking me if I have a Jubei and even though I do tells me that I don't and can't trade! I wonder if its a screw up in the translation.

Speaking of which, translation is a MAJOR issue in seemingly all NGPC games! I wonder why its so bad. Nearly every game has some sort of comically bad translation fail. Sometimes it's charming but other time's it's unhelpfully obtuse.

not yet! At this point, I'm still pretty green. TBH, I didn't know you could win cards from a machine until you just mentioned it, haha. Obviously I've seen the card traders or shops though. But at this point I'm still just wrapping my head around the actual card game, and what's a smart move and what's a dumb move. When is it good to be aggressive and when to be defensive, etc. Really fun, really nuanced little game. I love how much the simplicity of at all seems to hide a much deeper game that is immediately evident.

I generally try to stay (or get) one card ahead of my opponent in terms of my deck. That seems to be key. Lose the advantage and you can often lose the game quickly.

I'll be interested to play the SNK version at a later date. I'd like to know how different the games are or if they are literally just clones with different decks.

played for about an hour last night. Went back to Lost World and lost to Fo three times. She just has way better cards than me. :\

Also, I put up an interest check on my BST list, but I may be coming into an extra copy of Sonic Pocket Adventure in the next day or so. So if anyone is interested in a really nice complete US copy and wants to claim it, please let me know. :)

There is some secret stuff in The Lost World. That Dinosaur attraction in the corner is more than just a quirky bit of fun.
