Two shmups, both fun. Not much to say about either except that I was really impressed by Nemesis and really unimpressed by Space Invaders Extreme 2 - the first one is much better. I also preferred the first one on the PSP (I played it on both), and maybe if SIE2 was released for the PSP I would have found it more enjoyable...

I played the first on PSP and second on DS as well, and had the same reaction.

Question to anyone who's beaten numerous version of SFII or the like:

D'you regard the compeltion of separate entries to count as an individual title, or d'you lump them all in together? I was of the former belief 'til recently, as they're basically
just more balanced and faster versions of the same thing with new features given and
taken between titles. I mean, that could describe most franchises these days, but these
are explicitly the same title but improved. I'd be curious to get opinions on this.

I treat them separately as the balance, roster, and in many cases character endings are changed.

SFII and SSFII' may LOOK like the same game but they feel completely different.

- wario land 3 (GBC) (1/16/11) -- high
- metroid: other M (wii) (1/27/11) -- low
- kirby: canvas curse (DS) (2/4/11) -- medium
- pac-attack (GBA) (2/7/11) -- medium
- excitebike (NES) (2/18/11) -- medium
- NEW the legend of zelda: phantom hourglass (DS) (2/24/11) -- medium
- NEW super mario bros. 3 (NES) (3/5/11) -- high

wasn't wowed by phantom hourglass. hadn't been a fan of wind waker, although def. enjoyed hourglass more. the touchscreen controls work great and they didn't dumb it down too much, but other than the controls nothing much felt really feel new.

was a bit nervous about replaying SMB3, one of my absolute favs but that i haven't played in more than a decade. luckily it was as much fun as ever, and still ranks as one of my favorite games of all time.

as before, more extensive reviews can be found on my blog for anyone who's interested.

(hm. i thought i had replied to this, but here it is again.)

yup. not a fan of the usual 10-point scale since most everything ends up in the 7 or 8 range.
