Re: Video Pinball
To my knowledge the pro tables just give you more options to tweak different settings (physics, etc).
Re: Video Pinball
TPA Pro Mode lets you view more of the table (that is, being able to scroll around and zoom in on an overhead view of it), lets you manually manipulate and control a ball through the entire table, gives you access to the operator's menu (similar to DIP switches on arcade games, except any scores with modifications to those settings won't count towards the in-game leaderboards), and IFPA player's pro tips specific to each table (basically, "aim for this ramp/target for big points". Seriously.)
I only bought the Season 1 pro pack because it was on sale. Otherwise, I really don't see any other benefit.
High Roller Casino is coming to mobile next month though, awesome Stern table! Also really easy to get into and do very well on.

The ability to view more of the table makes it worth it in my eyes. Thanks fellas.

Good post my friend. You explained it in much better detail than I could. I personally don't use those tables but I certainly see the allure.ExedExes wrote:TPA Pro Mode lets you view more of the table (that is, being able to scroll around and zoom in on an overhead view of it), lets you manually manipulate and control a ball through the entire table, gives you access to the operator's menu (similar to DIP switches on arcade games, except any scores with modifications to those settings won't count towards the in-game leaderboards), and IFPA player's pro tips specific to each table (basically, "aim for this ramp/target for big points". If anyone else plays this on PS3/Vita - make sure you add me as a friend (brad21126) for the leaderboards. I have every pack that's been released. Friendly competition (for a while there dsheinem and I went back and forth on a lot) is great for the game.

Re: Video Pinball
Touched up my Zen Pinball 2 collection - grabbed the new Deadpool table and the two Star Wars packs I didn't have.
I greatly prefer the physics and overall style of Pinball Arcade but damn if I'm not a mark for the Marvel/Star Wars original tables through Zen.
I've got those on Xbox360 (red21126) if anyone wants to share leaderboards.

Re: Video Pinball
dunno why.. but I'm heartily enjoying Jaki Crush right now..
...oh wait - it's because it's NAXAT! Why the hell wasn't this released in the states?
Wishful thinking - but I'd LOVE to see a Crush Trilogy released for the 3DS.

Jaki Crush is based on Japanese Ogre "mythology" that is not so well known outside Japan even today, much less in the 90s.Rurouni_Fencer wrote:dunno why.. but I'm heartily enjoying Jaki Crush right now..

Jaki Crush rocks. Now that I have a Retron 5, I really need to see about getting that. If you can get pretty far in it, it gets so much better.Rurouni_Fencer wrote:dunno why.. but I'm heartily enjoying Jaki Crush right now..

Re: Video Pinball
I played Pinbot for NES recently. This game was made by Rare years before their famous (DK country, Killer Instinct, and GoldenEye 007) partnership with Nintendo. It controls well; D-pad is left flipper; A is right flipper; B is plunger. The split-screen display keeps the flippers always in view. I was impressed by how simple and intuitive the controls are, but I grew bored with the table quickly.
Re: Video Pinball
One night years ago I did amazingly well on this game. 14 million. Any score over 10M gets you a credits roll. I liked it. I liked the different playfields you can get too.samsonlonghair wrote:I played Pinbot for NES recently. High Speed on the NES is good too, also by Rare.
