Hey, Cassidy here...long time reader, love how the site has evolved and grown and figured it was time to step out of the shadows.

I've been a gamer since 1982 when I stayed up all night Christmas Day playing through Demon Attack on my family's Intellivision.

I saved up for an NES and got one in February of 1986 - the Action System with the Duck Hunt/SMB cart. My life has been entrenched in video games ever since.

Console wise I own pretty much everything out there from a major company with the exception of Sega consoles, but I'm aiming to get a Dreamcast soon. I couldn't shake that brand loyalty to Nintendo for a long time.

My most recent console is a PS3, which I got after going through 4 Xbox 360's - they totally lost me as a gamer.

My top 5 favourite games of all time, in no particular order are:

Zelda: OoT
Castlevania: SotN
Zelda: ALTP
Super Mario Galaxy
Little Big Planet

I look forward to chatting with everyone here.

welcome aboard Cassidy,

nice freaky Majora's Mask avatar :)

I myself am originally a 'SEGA man' but I got a Gamecube so you can do it too

I am absolutely sure no one's ever regretted buying a DC (as my Peter Moore sig can attest to :p )
'In the end it didn't work out. It was tough, but those were great days and I've never met anybody who regretted buying a Dreamcast.'

Hello...I'm new...

I'm a 17 year old high school student living in the US with a N64, PsOne, Dreamcast, Gamecube, Ps2(my favorite), (original) Xbox, and a Ps3. I'm not so much of a retro gamer as someone who likes good games regardless of when they were released...mostly action/adventure RPGs though.

Not really sure of how I found this site, but I've been a lurker for some time now...figured it was about time to join. Also, I hate food service

Hi,

I'm Hank, 30 years, currently living the Netherlands. My alltime favourite retrogames are Monkey Island and ofcourse Doom! (http://www.thisgamewascool.com/games/on ... /Doom.html)

I used to own an xbox but I've switched to a PS3 (glad I made that move!) My favourite PS3 game currently is MGS4 and Uncharted (yeah, it's over a year old but it's a damn cool game!)

I don't own a retro console but I'll dust off my commodore amiga during christmas ;D

Hi all!

Started videogaming in the early 80's (my hair is graying) - arcade games at the local pizza parlor, Atari 2600, Colecovision (still have it!), and Intellivision. Did a fair share of gaming on Apple II and Commodore 64 (Archon anyone?). Got my first PC in 1985 (an XT clone), which set off my neverending habit of continually building PC's to play the latest stuff. Fell in love with Dark Castle on the original Mac. Big fan of Sierra games during the 80's and 90's. On the console front, spent a fair amount of time on pretty much every major console - NES, SNES, Genesis, etc. up to the current consoles (and I still have quite a few). I'm not religious about any particular console - I like them all on their own merits. I play games of pretty much every genre. And I love reminiscing about games of yesterday! :)

Hey all,

Just a quick intro. I've been into gaming since I was a kid but unfortunately my parents weren't so keen on them. I did manage to get a Genesis for one xmas but that was about the end of it. I'm now 27 and making up for all that lost gaming time by buying up all the systems I never had and buying all the games I never played.

I don't think I really have a "top 5 games list" or anything like that, but here are some of my all time favorites, in no particular order.

Sonic 1 through Sonic & Knuckles (Genesis)
Ristar (Genesis)
Rocket Knight Adventures (Genesis)
Gunstar Heroes (Genesis)
Streets of Rage 2 (Genesis)
Sonic CD (Sega CD)
Jumping Flash (PS1)
Warhawk (PS1)
Return Fire (PS1)

That's about it for now.

Thanks for reading!
Systems: Atari 2600, Atari Jaguar, NES, SNES, N64, GameCube, Wii, Genesis 3, Genesis 2, 32X, Sega CD (model 2), Saturn (model 1), Dreamcast, PS1, PS2, Xbox (Modded), Xbox 360, GameBoy, GBA SP, Game Gear, PSP... always adding more

Hey everyone! I've had an account for awhile, and I think I made a few posts when I was considering buying a Japanese Saturn (Long story short, I did), but aside from that I haven't been very active, so I may as well introduce myself.
I'm LCDSCREEN, I hail from the rugged northern reaches of "Canada", I've been gaming all my life, or at least as early as I could hold a controller. Before that I... Well, I don't think I can remember that far back. My earliest gaming memory was playing Sonic 2 on the Genesis, I specifically remember asking my Sister what the level select code was. She forgot. >:(
We had a Genesis with a couple games then I think I was 5 or 6 when we got an N64. A couple years later I traded it for a Playstation. I guess I got the full spectrum of gaming there... I would have more to say but I don't want to bore you with my life story. I did buy another N64 later if anyone's interested, I simply couldn't resist the call of Super Mario 64.
My New Years Resolution this year is to play more retro games, I've been playing a lot of the original Sonic recently (F'ing long levels, bro) and I've been having a blast. My Genesis collection has gone virtually unchanged for 15 years, so I plan on bulking it up. My dream is to own every North American Genesis game ever, that would be so f'ing awesome... Doubt it's gonna happen ever, but we'll see how my collection changes from today till next year.
And that's that! ;D

Hi, all. I'm Nanten from Missouri. I've been a gamer for as long as I can remember. I started playing games on the NES, usually at my cousin's house. But in 1993, I got a SNES for Christmas with The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, and it drew me in like no other game before ever had. Since then, I've moved to a PS2. I'm mostly into RPGs at this point. However, I'm getting back into the older games, primarily for the SNES.

Some of my favorite games are:

-Super Mario Kart
-The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
-Pretty much the entire Final Fantasy series (except X-2)
-Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete
-The Metal Gear Solid series
Consoles: NES, SNES, DC, PS2, PSP, PS3, 3DS, PS4.
