Performance wise I never saw any difference between Vista and 7. It was much slower at playing games, but that could be a driver issue. God help is if it uses more resources than Vista.racketboy wrote:A friend showed my 7 on his laptop yesterday.
Seemed pretty nice. Very Vista-like in terms of UI (other than the new taskbar) but without the annoyances and slightly better performance. But we already knew that.
2k to XP wasn't that big an upgrade. It was more of a unification of the NT Kernel with a slightly shiner front end. Vista -> Windows 7 is more like the upgrade from vanilla XP to XP SP2. I see very little benefits of the upgrade. I think MS should work on making Vista better. Windows 7 should be Vista SP3. It's little more than a few tweaks here and there and they've forced you to use the quicklaunch for everything and made the taskbar twice as big as it should be.racketboy wrote: I might eventually upgrade to 7, but it might be a while.
