Octopussy stands out, though. Octopussy the short story barely even involves Bond. It's the internal narration of a guy who likes to play with a blue ring octopus he names Octopussy, and then one day he lets it roll down his back and it bites him and he dies. Then Bond shows up and finds the guy he was supposed to kill is already dead. The end.

I get it. That said...Quantum of Solace is literally about someone telling James Bond a story, over dinner, about a British civil servant who married an air hostess.

I've always thought about starting a James Bond thread, but I didn't know if it would get ongoing conversation or crickets. There's a lot to talk about between the books, the movies and the games. I guess it just depends on how many fans there are on this forum, and how big of fans they are.
