Update:

I reset my router and... now I can stream my Xbox One at Very High quality. So yeah, the old "turn it off and on again" worked haha.

Also, it was Killer Instinct 2 CLASSIC that I got free! Whoo!

so once I got the streaming thing working, I'm really pleased with the experience. It's basically exactly what I said I wanted it to be. The console exists under my TV. But I just fire up the Xbox app on Windows and can turn the console on/off from there. Works really well. So I'm happy.

A question about the "free with Gold" games... I notice that right now it says that Rayman Origins (360) is one of them as well, but when I click on it it's not free like the other free games were. Am I to understand that you have to redeem it on a 360 console but then it will work on the Xbox One once redeemed?

@Stark: I appreciate the offer on Madden 15, but having not played a Madden game since 08 there's something really alluring about getting "the new one." Plus Gronk's on the cover of 17. 8)

At any rate, I ended up buying the console because of some ebay sales and haven't used the store credit I was holding to go towards the console, so I'll be grabbing some games soon. :D

I am like 99% sure you can redeem 360 games through the Xbox One interface now. That said, I usually do it from the web at work so my console starts downloading well before I get home. http://www.xbox.com/en-US/live/games-wi ... r=shellnav

Yeah like bmoc said, do it from the web, it's pretty easy that way. An easy way to get to that link he posted is to go to xbox.com and sign-in and then choose Games With Gold under the Games menu there. Then click on the picture of the game you want and click Buy and it should show up as $0.00 and then you should be able to download it on your Xbox. It's not quite as seamless, but it works.

awesome, thanks for the heads up!

I'm also pretty impressed w/ the backwards compatibility stuff in general. In the past couple days they've added Rocket Knight and Shadows Of The Damned. Seems like they are actually adding new titles weekly. Maybe we should have a thread to post when new games are added?

It's worth mentioning that the free Xbox One games are only yours for as long as you have an active XBL Gold subscription. The free 360 games you get are yours forever.

Can you install any 360 game to the HDD and play it without the disc?
