The Wii was ideal for certain genres. I just don't think spectacle showboat FPS games were one of them.

It certainly isn't ideal for what Call of Duty wanted to do - have pretty graphics with robust online play and little else of note - but it's still my system of choice for FPS. I really enjoyed the motion controls for shooters.

Rifles, Pavlov, first to 20, 4 man game, go. Best sniper experience out there, until Sniper Elite 2 dropped atleast.

Unreal Tournament 2004 with the Lighting Gun is still my all-time favorite sniper experience.

Mine is the battle against The End in MGS3. It's just such an amazing battle.

I like the sniper rifle in the original Unreal Tournament. Headshots would often make the person's head just pop right off, and since character models were relatively low poly affairs with unrealistic textures, it was more humorous than grim by far.

It's a great boss fight, but probably less so for a sniping experience if you're going for non-lethal.

Doom. Doom is my 2016 GoTY. Nice way to use modern mechanics to get old-school feel.

Axiom Verge has catapulted into the list, at least for stuff I've played this year. Not released this year, but I finally got to it.

I also completely forgot to mention 1001 Spikes. I really, really enjoyed my time with that, even if it was pretty stressful at times.
