I'm grabbing NES Remix, Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D, Yoshi's New Island, and maybe Animal Crossing. I've never played an Animal Crossing game before; is City Folk a good first foray?

The best one is New Leaf for 3DS, but they're all solid.

The main issue I have with them is that they're very similar. It might be worth just buying New Leaf because you only really need one game in the series.

New Leaf is similar but the least of the lot since you're Mayor in that one so you get all sorts of different duties which is nice. It's the most interesting in the series other than the original on Gamecube. I had it for awhile but when it sat for a time as I moved on I let it go. I sometimes think I'd play it again but unless I find it super cheap on the after market I'm not bothering as I think I'd come up short on hours.

I wound up just buying some of them online. $15.99 with Amazon Prime or Best Buy's gamer club makes them pretty hard to pass up given typical Nintendo prices.

Can confirm here today! Just grabbed a copy of Pikmin 3 at Best Buy. IMO, the crown and wreath is much better than other previous GH designs and branding. Plus it's nice to not have to pay 125% of its MSRP but 33%!Image

I like it. The price on the original release - which I would prefer for my collection - is already cratering on eBay.

Picked up tropical freeze, galaxy 2 and mario party island tour for my lady. I already have most of the selects except animal crossing which I'm not a fan of.
