Same here. I saw a copy at Target this morning when I wnet to buy an anniversary card for my parents. I am super-busy with work right now, and I would have absolutely no time to play it, but I was still tempted to buy the game brand new at full price. (I never do that!)noiseredux wrote:the more I read about it, the more I'm planning to play this much sooner rather than later.

Yes the XB1 version is pretty good.Blu wrote:If the conversion rate is correct $80NZD is $50USD.
Is this game worth picking up on Xbox One? I do love me some Metal Gear!

Do you like the WTF-ness of previous MGS's? Cause the opening to this is super cray cray. Hideo is on some good stuff. I love it.Blu wrote:If the conversion rate is correct $80NZD is $50USD.

I'll be getting this either this weekend or the next, and the anticipation is growing each day. Been firing up Ground Zeroes and running around like a mook with no real goal as I wait. Been avoiding pretty much any news/spoilery sites regarding the game like a plague.
Re: Metal Gear Solid V
Well I put in around 5 hours today and it is awesome. The game play is perfect, control is spot in. Sneaking is so rewarding, and not a chore at all. I had a lot of fun doing the side ops after a main mission.
I have to say, it almost doesn't "feel" like a metal gear game, the cut scenes are short, snake doesn't talk barely at all, and when he does its still weird not hearing David hayter. We will see how the story starts to unfold, as I barley scratched the surface so far.

Most of Snake's dialogue is in the cassette tape mission briefings and info dumps. It basically takes the lecture stuff that used to be forced upon the player and put somewhere they can choose to listen to or not. I love it.jay_red wrote:Well I put in around 5 hours today and it is awesome. The game play is perfect, control is spot in. Sneaking is so rewarding, and not a chore at all. Re: Metal Gear Solid V
It’s actually really amazing how many lives the Metal Gear games have touched over the years.
So many people found joy in Hideo Kojima’s games and for some it gave them hope where they felt there wasn’t any.
One such case is a guy named Sean Gillespie who was fighting a losing battle with cancer, but found a glimmer happiness in the Metal Gear games.
Sadly, Sean passed away before MGS V was released but Hideo Kojima still delivered a signed copy of his game by hand to his house, as Sean’s story was such an inspiration to the team working on the game.
Hideo also visits the likes of Troy Baker and Geoff Keighley to hear their thoughts on the last 20 years of Metal Gear games.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V
I've been playing Kojima's games all my life essentially, back to the MSX days. Sad to hear about Sean Gillespie, there was a story about Creative Assembly scanning the likeness of a terminally-ill fan into Rome Total War 2. Wish more devs would do gestures like that.

My biggest regret is that I wasn't able to get the collector's edition. This game is just amazing. The first hour left me slack jawed.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V
I've got it installed on my PS4 and ready to go.
Except for the update. That's not done.
Either way I'll be playing it tonight after I finish Until Dawn.
