Sure technically speaking, old school computer geeks can view Facebook on a C64 (to a limited extent). Average Joe herpty doo isn't going to be doing that though. Nor would they want to.

This is a valid point. But it was the best option considering I didn't want to join a Commodore specific forum just to ask one question.

Besides, I trust you guys :)

This is what I'm hoping. *crosses fingers*

For all of it together, or separately? I'd say spend no more than $50 tops on the C64 bundle. I don't know the prices of C128s, but I can't imagine them being more than $100 max. For the 1541, it depends on which one you get. Rainbow ones seem to be more expensive (I have no idea why except for nostalgia reasons), but they're also less reliable. The 1541C or II are cheaper and sturdier. I would say get a 1541 Ultimate II, but you just missed a production run.

Sigh. I see all my posts are ignored.

This stuff is theoretically "worth" over $100 on a good day, but go up to $50-ish on a bid Michi. Best case scenario: no one gives a crap about old computers. Worst case: some other retro gaming nerd shows up.

C64 and 128 play the same games.

Here's the clincher though: very high probability those floppy drives are toast. Thankfully there are still cartridge games. I know a fair amount about C64 stuff - PM me anytime.

One could argue you in turn ignored Michi's post until just now. ;p

Seriously though, if you ever talked about playing C64 I missed it; not a subject I'd purposefully ignore. It's hard for me to decide my all time favorite C64 game, but it's one of these two:

What's yours Bone?

Probably Deathlord - a diabolically hard WRPG with a Japanese setting. I've played it extensively via emulation. I also own it but unfortunately can't play it on my C64. Either one of the disks is dead or my aftermarket drive simple doesn't recognize it (which has been known to happen with certain games). What a pickle.

I need to get Soulless one of these days. But yeah. C64 owns. I actually have mine hooked up 24/7 next to my PC:

Hope Michi has some success.

The main reason I've always been fond of the C64 is because of its SID chip. I used to be crazy about it. I actually built an accurate emulation of it as a VST plugin many years ago (along with a NES 2A03 VST as well). I am fond of C64 exclusive games, but the vast majority of cross platform ports were inferior on the system versus its console competition. Data East was probably the worst at not even trying.

As far as Soulless goes, I'm not sure if it ever had a physical release? I bought the digital download version of the game a few years ago for a pittance. The author has since released the game as freeware from what I've read:

Back to the "Advice" realm of this thread, I'm strongly considering "finishing" a room that's above my garage. Making it another "bonus" fun/hangout room for me, my daughter, whoever. There is a window already, and several outlets (previous owner had a hydroponic marijuana setup). I'd essentially be adding walls, flooring, a door, and a few other touches. I'm not incredibly handy so perhaps I'll be popping in and out of this thread when the time comes.
