Do you have need to meet people with similar interests and then potentially get into their pants? Then organizations can fill that need.

As a government employee, I can confirm that this is true.
Forlorn Drifter wrote:The bank? Only to make deposits and withdrawals. I ranch, I do not farm. I have little need for loans and the like, and plan to never take a loan if I do not need it, which I likely won't, because I don't spend money unless I have to.
Yes, but what if the chick at the bank is cute?

You can make excuses all day to avoid people, but it seems like you are wanting to find some companionship...which means finding places to talk to people and play to your strengths. In these kind of areas where you have some expertise, ideas, and reason for being there it would seem that it may be worth making an effort.

Those were the last rules I memorized. God knows 4E certainly isn't worth bringing up.

You don't need charisma to go to the grocery store. You don't even have to say anything. I avoid the doctor's office like the plague, and if I do get sick enough to die, who the hell is going to care? My family, of course, but they would be better off without me. Dealings with the EPA are rare at best, and even if they shut me down I'll just start up again somewhere else. Or die of starvation.

I'm just saying you don't have to be charismatic for anything. George Carlin manages to survive and that guy is the epitome of assholedom, so I can manage.

And happiness doesn't matter. It really doesn't. If it did, the world would work completely. Its still important to some, but I really don't care at this point. I'm 19 years old, a virgin, and can hardly hold a conversation. Survival of the fittest says my seed should not be planted.

That he was. A lovable asshole is an asshole who is charismatic.

He's also charismatic.

The truth is, comedians don't get big unless they are charismatic.

If being a despicable human being is charisma, than Hitler must have been awesome.

Hitler was also charismatic. Being charismatic has nothing to do with being a good person. Many of the worst people are highly charismatic, as are some of the best.

Gandhi was charismatic. So was Pol Pot. Pope John Paul II was, as was Charles Manson.
