How about Apple making the 74 Billion last quarter?!

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

fastbilly1 wrote:The issue with that Niode, is that many people do not buy hardware and ever get rid of it. I for example still have and use my gaming pc that I built for Half Life 2. Dont get me wrong Apple makes probably the best quality hardware on the market. Part of that is because it is a closed set of ecosystems so it does not have to support everything. But if everything you need to do is in that ecosystem, and you can afford it, why not buy the best? Personally, I skirt the worlds where Apple is mandatory. So I know how to use one, but I do not personally - hopeful new job would change that though.

I look at it this way: your telephone, your car, your computer, these are all tools. Tools are things man created to make life easier. Get the tool you know will get the job done how you need it done. Can you use a screwdriver as a hammer, yes, but it is not great at it.
Yes that is true. However I wanted to address the main issue most detractors have when discussing Apple hardware. "It's too expensive" or "only idiots spend that much when there are cheaper alternatives" are the main arguments that are bandied about during these topics. I wanted to address that specifically. Personally I'd rather sell my mac before it depreciates in value too much to get the latest model if there is a sufficient reason to do so. A few hundred every couple of years isn't as bad as having to fork out £1600 every 5 in my eyes. Sadly people don't tend to think that way.

Ok, he's legit.

Prfsnl, we can lower the Skynet alert system from hard to flaccid.

No worries, chief. It's just that prfsnl and Ferret prefer it when the Skynet alert system is turned on and raging, surging from flaccid to hard, until "Ding Dong" go the warning bells as the threat thrusts itself into the public eye, where common people like you, me, and Canadian international chess master Richard "Dick" Wang are aware of the throbbing pulse of danger. Then, as we let the warnings penetrate our consciousness and hunker down in our hot and sweaty bunkers to wrestle with our own fears, then we can be aware of just how we have managed to erect such a threat to ourselves, from electronic software and hard nuts and bolts. We cannot let Skynet rape the planet. Otherwise, we're all fucked.
