First off, I loved this episode! I am a huge fighting game fan and I am glad to see some of the less popular, but still awesome fighting games get some light of day. Keep up the good work!

Would've preferred you showing this wonderful game to your viewers via the Digital Release or even the PSX version, if you have em that is of course.

It isn't like this was in depth coverage, just an overview of some that people might not know or might have forgotten about. This would probably lead them to find more information on the ones that looked interesting.

Nor did I expect it to be OR made any comments as such. It's just kinda bums me out having such an awesome game displayed in such poor form (as a result of the port used in this segment of course).

Man, you and MSH. To the average gamer it still looks awesome, slow down or no.

I didn't experience very much slowdown. Certainly nothing that would warrant any SOOOOOO SLOOOOOW OMG THE SKY IS ON FIRE type of comments. The load times weren't bad, either. If the game is running slow, then that's the way I prefer it. I'm not the kind of guy who turns the speed in Street Fighter 2 Turbo up to 20 stars or whatever. This game is already pretty fast. I'll be the 3rd or 4th to admit that it's probably not the most optimized game on the planet.

Anyway I apologize for not feeling that the game is broken as you do with the RAM cart. Now if you were arguing running Samurai Spirits with a 4M RAM cart on the other hand, I'd certainly agree with you.

Left in Europe - Game Sack

Post by Redifer »

Ever wonder what exclusives the PAL region got? Well here's 10 good ones. Well a couple of them aren't that good, actually.

Got any good recommendations on PAL exclusive games we should try out... if we can run them?

Loved this Video.

Terranigma is most likely the biggest "big" title that PAL got that the US didn't, but it is so rare and expensive, hardly matters (and it came out in Japan).

Only released in Australia, Aussie Rules Footy for the NES is amazing. It was made by Beam Software (Melbourne House) who were behind Smash TV, Back to the Future, few others on the NES.

It also has some of the best speech on the NES.

Go Go Cosmo Cops is hard to describe. Same basic genre as DK King of Swing.
Canceled in Japan so late they left in the script, rom hack exists to see it.
Lum fan.

Nice video.

Looking for Europe only releases, your best bet is probably master system, which is nice considering they'll probably run just fine.

Other than that, a lot of them will be computer releases for the Amiga, ZX Spectrum, Amstrad CPC, Commodore 64 and the likes.

I tried to think of some recommendations for the list, but most of the ones I came up with had come out in Japan too. Maybe you could do a 'Not for America' episode to cover those games instead

It's worth trying out the other Asterix games on Master System too. One of them isn't very good (I can't remember which one) but the other one is pretty solid. It plays very similar to the first though.

The Asterix arcade game is AMAZING. One of the best licensed beat em ups Konami ever did.

Actually Retro Gamer magazine had articles on the rarity of all PAL releases and I remember they also mentioned which ones were exclusive to Europe. If you guys want to I can check for the issues and hit you with a pm about it.

Now that I mentioned it, have you guys checked Retro Gamer? I think it's something you will really enjoy, and a "Europe exclusive" too :P

Their website sucks but their magazine is awesome. I used to subscribe to it for 2 years and I really enjoyed it. When I have a more steady address I will probably subscribe again.

Winter Gold on the SNES is an interesting one, not for its gameplay (which is your standard Olympics type) but the graphics. It's using the last revision of the Super FX chip, and has some of the best 3D graphics on the system.
