Sonic is kinda cool and has some neat drinks but Jack in the Box is terrible.

Either way you're not missing much.

It was definitely 75% (maybe more) of rice / beans. At least the rice had flavor - but still, way too much.

I'm not sure what I ordered - the first 2 words were "Chicken, Steak, ...." and then the next 3 meat (I think) choices were not words i'm used to seeing. One of them meant beef, I assume, because I ordered a beef burrito. That was $7.50 (so w/tax, just over $8). We got 2 of those and the kids meal I think was $4 or $4.50. The kids "Taco Kit" is a tortilla rolled up, a meat cup, (2) side options (cheese, rice, lettuce, salsa, etc) and a beverage. The total was just under $21.

BROTHER!

Yeah I'm in the "Don't particularly like Mexican food" camp, other than a basic rice/meat/cheese burrito or a meat/cheese quesadilla occasionally... but I do get cravings for one of those 2 from time to time.

It's not that I don't like Mexican food, it's that Mexican food, like Asian food, involves way too many vegetables. And we all know vegetables are a poison. So I'll pick up items that I can either get as a meat & grain & sauce thing or can easily pick out the meat and still get a decently sized meal.

I'm with you. Green isn't food, green is what food eats.

I've grown extremely fond of veggies over the last several months. I straight up snack on onions now.

Panera sell, well, some fancy pricey bread. They also sell sandwichy foods as I recall, but I only ever get a dozen bagels to go, which are good. Their signature one is has a crusty island of cinnamon sugar in the middle. They're not as good as a hole in the wall real NY bagel place, but they're good, and on par with Einstein's Bagels IMHO.

The restaurant should have been able to explain what stuff was on the menu. It wouldn't be any different than a Japanese place exaplainig what sushi or sashimi is. Of course if you were being rushed through then that was a big problem.

Well and Panera also sells coffee and I freaking love their Columbian combined with some sugar and creamer(10x better than our Ht trader one...that stuff is just messed up and usually comes out tasting watered down yuck)

I'm in the mood for mexican food tonight, but the northwest isn't the best place for it, from what I've seen. The sushi, however, is phenomenal. :3

If Chipotle had a Panera Bread atmosphere (big and spacious with WiFi and a fireplace) my life would be complete.

Sounds to me like the one you were at the franchise owner or employees/manager like to screw the customer which is annoying with that much rice and bean. Where I go it's the same size big spoon and I get one rice, one bean, one chicken, and then the toppings. so the fluff aside it's like thirds. I looked the menu up. Barbacoa is spicy beef, Carnitas is pork. The fifth is a vegetarian option with just added beans and veggies instead of the meat. http://www.chipotle.com/en-US/menu/ingr ... ients.aspx

Your price break down makes sense, chicken and veggie are a dollar cheaper than the other choices as the beefs and pork are a buck higher. Also guacamole and peppers(fajita filler) is another buck too. When I can I just get a bowl/burrito (2 of them) to bring home and it's 13+6% tax.

I love Chipotle. It's good cheap food and their smoky Chipotle tabasco that they have at the tables is also delicious. It's no taqueria, but I could eat there if I'm in a pinch any day. I likely do not feel hungry the rest of the day, which is a completely different issue.

Sorry you had a bad experience Mike -- I sometimes go in mine (there are three here) and they're sometimes very dead.
