The famicom or snes one? I've had the snes one for a while and like it a lot, recently picked up the famicom one. Still prefer a stick for shmups.

SNES pad. Also have the X-Arcade Solo stick, that's what I used for Type A and C scores here.

Yay! The stage 5 milestone...and that's probably about it for me and this infuriating game.

ChrisH2049 - 6,149,470 - Area 5 - 40 - Type B - MAME

Nice. I would carry on trying to get to stage 5 tonight, but running out of hairs to pull out.

Slight improvement:

Nyukki - 4,513,830 - Area 4 (Boss) - 50 - Type C - Final Burn Alpha

This month, Nyukki presents Batsugun!

*INFORMATION*
MAME romset: batsugun.zip
Description: Batsugun

DIPs: Default (Normal difficulty/Extend 1 Million ONLY)

Other formats accepted: Saturn (Japan)
No differences in the Saturn port as far as I know (except for the Special Mode).

Autofire: They are allowing it on the high score thread on Shmups, therefore, "I'll allow it".

Format: Name - Score - Stage - Ship - Version/Port (if playing Saturn port, indicate Normal or Special mode)

NOTE EDIT: After further review & discussion, I have taken back the no-boss milking policy on Stage 4. Give it all you got!

Thanks Exed. Special version OK? I'm gonna try and get the milking down, since it's no easy feat in and of itself since you need to make it through level 4 with bombs to spare in the first place. IF I do get it down I'll put a *MILK next to my score (though it should be obvious anyway).

This year's calendar rocks!

Special and Normal are not comparable. Special has 4 loops, normal has one. Special has the bonus pigs that normal lacks, and has milking. Special is essentially a Black Label, and its scores will vastly differ.

Can we get an elaboration as to why milking is essentially banned? We've not banned any scoring tactic before, and there is nothing inherently broken about Jupiter milking (It does not supply an unlimited amount of points, for example). It is technical and requires knowledge of the game, but the same could be said for Dodonpachi chaining, which we allowed.

If it is going to be restricted, thats fine, but some sort of definite line would be good, as "overdoing it" implies that some amount of cycles are okay to do, but some amount is too many, and that number could differ between players.

Either way, really hoping to get more time into this one than I did Donpachi. Too good of a year to let the months slip by like last year.

I personally don't see why milking jupiter should be disallowed and that's coming from someone who can't do it. If I'm in last place at the end of the month because everyone elses scores are all clocked out, then all I can say is 'damn, nice one dudes!'
