Is that it? No hidden things, chaining, boss milking, etc.? It seems like the key is just when to hit #2 and when to wait.
I may like this game even less as a scoring game than as a survival game...
There are hidden items.
There is scoring technique once in hyper which is in the shmups strategy thread.
There is a way to increase your 1000 meter faster.
Enemies can be killed with 3 shots. Hold A or B, Tap A or B, Hold A+B before you are over 1,000. Each enemy is optimally killed in one of those specific ways.

I have found some hidden items since posting...didn't know about the different shot techniques...will consult the shmups guide for tomorrow's chunk of runs!
the rest of today is football, alcohol, and pumpkini/pecan/bourbon pie!

360 has 5 buttons. Arcade is 3. So in arcade you cannot hold down the light shot. You have to tap to light shot. So yes, technically 360 has autofire. But I was just trying to be a dick. Nice improvement, Dave. Can I assume you're growing to like the game more now?
