Re: Lost
After talking with coworkers, and browsing some forums, the common belief is that the bomb went off during the timeskip. So we have both timelines and both are right - ala Back to the Future 2. But if you looked the flight was missing ALOT of people. Mr. Eko and Anna Lucia stick out the most to me.

probably because they didn't belong to the story to begin with, so why pay them to show up now? specially Mr Eko. he seamed so important during season 2 and then suddenly he gets killed off without his story fully developed

Re: Lost
We don't actually know for sure its two timelines. We are just assuming it is. But Lost has made us assume things in the past and then go a completely different direction with it. Most notably when they made us think we were watching a flash back but really it was a flash forward.ZeroAX wrote:this was strange even for lost. and really 2 timelines? I hate it when that happens.
Mr. Eko is most likely not coming back. The actor wanted out of the show and thats why he was killed off in the first place. Otherwise they were going to expand on his significance.fastbilly1 wrote:After talking with coworkers, and browsing some forums, the common belief is that the bomb went off during the timeskip. I am also assuming that the actress who played Shannon, Boone's sister, didn't want to come back either, or else they would have shown her with him.

Wow, some of you guys have miss a lot of details. Eko and Ana are in the tail section, that's why we didn't see themfastbilly1 wrote:After talking with coworkers, and browsing some forums, the common belief is that the bomb went off during the timeskip. As for Eko's original death, the actor wanted out it's not that they didn't have more planned for the character. Those are the realities of tv, it's why a certain character was killed off in Battlestar Galactica, despite having a close relationship to two of the main characters. It why Angel's second season story arc went in a completely unexpected direction in the last few episodes
I guess I'm not jaded with sci fi yet, I still like alternate timeline/reality stories and it's interesting that both Fringe and Lost(two shows J J Abrams has been involved with)are doing it, but in different ways. I love these types of stories, the idea of alternate realities fascinates me. I noticed in one interview the producers mentioned that they weren't calling the new timeline an alternate reality because they want us to view both of them as valid and they dodged a lot of questions regarding the realities merging or one of them dissapearing

I figured when Jack went to the head to save Charlie, that it was in the tail section. If I am not mistaken, 815 was a Boeing 777. Which the only bathrooms that have a hallway in front of them like the ones on the show are in the tail. So for the floorplan of the plane to make sense he would have to be in the tail.
I have an understanding of how a tv series work: I put a couple days in on one two years ago as a PA and have been in and out of the industry my entire life. So yes, I know if an actor wants to move on, they do. But with a show like this, nothing can be taken for granite. I dont put it past them to create false drama with actors for the sake of confusing the fans.

I am not trying to say my opinion is more valid than anyone else's, just trying to explain that I am not some kid shooting off.

Interesting point about the plane's design. It's funny, but a lot of killed off characters were actors who got DUIs I think. A lot of people still think their deaths are just punishment. Even off camera, Lost inspires questions and conspiracy theoriesfastbilly1 wrote:I figured when Jack went to the head to save Charlie, that it was in the tail section. Re: Lost
yes and as we see here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adewale_Akinnuoye-Agbaje the actor had a great career after leaving lost.
then again it wasn't as stupid as when kutner had to leave House M.D and they had him commit suicide which was so out of character. at least have him get run over by a car, or something, I don't know....
