I kinda feel like taking a stab at it this year......
I feel like there are some good choices here. I have been eying Gaiares for some time now. And I also need to put a lot more time into Chaos Field, just don't let noiseredux take charge of the leader board for that one.

This looks like a solid line-up. I'm especially stoked at the fact that I have all but 1 of these that have home ports.

Also, Gaiares has the best/worst advertising for any shmup game ever made.
