Was I really that harsh? I just found it funny.

I was mostly giving you a hard time cuz we've had this discussion in the past already. But I do think that TG should at least get credit for doing what it did AT THE TIME. Like I said, there was no internets, and they were trying to do a large scale record-keeping of video games across arcades nationwide. Regardless of how well they've managed to keep that up in this day and age, they deserve props for getting the ball rolling.

Yeah, they probably do.

My props to TG would be like your props to Gradius/R-Type. We both know how we really feel

Its awesome. Although, I think Doc is the one that should only have one other team member!

I'm absolutely terrible at Mars Matrix, though, so I'm trying to make sure I finish high this week. :)

I believe in freely asked, freely given. It's hard for me not to share advice and tips like I'd do over at the SOTM thread.

It's the boss times, for sure. A 150K improvement by getting more pts as a result of the plasma sword's always on & direct focus, plus the very nice screen clearing effect you get when it is at maximum level helps on Stage 2's boss.

So what it's an STGT! Gotta spread the love!

I'm using the basic weapon (Dunno what its called, the one with the big red ball), and I can get 80k bonus on Stage 1, 2, and 4 boss. :) I found a couple of safespots via practice. I can share them if anyone is interested, not sure if they are documented or not.

The sword might help with the 3rd boss though.

If you let the demo go on without starting the game, it goes through the various arms/weapons.

Stage 3 I only managed a half-bonus because the weak spot is at the very top and dealing with the missiles that come from underneath really saps a lot of time away.

Yeah, same here. Each other boss I can get 80k easily, but the 3rd is a punk.

I've seen the demo, but I can't remember the name. Its the first powerup that the guy drops, before it cycles to the big dominatrix-looking ball.

I just started it up to go through the demo. The 4 arms are -

1) Energy Ball - Normal power but shoots fast.
2) Hammer - More powerful but slower.
3) Laser Sword - Powerful but useful only at short distance.
4) Wheel - Multi directional shooting.

Gonna try to post an improved score tonight. My goal is to break the 1mil mark, but I'll be happy if I get into the 900K area.
