Next Gen Opinion?

My opinion is im waiting till at least 2015 to have an opinion on the next gen consoles.

I think Sony and Xbox need to earn my money by showing me great new games and quality hardware, not by just being new and shiny. Which many members have no problem admitting is why they're buying it. But like I said in the PS4 thread, if you have the means and are willing to wait for good games, then go for it.

PS4 and Xbox One being region free offer a HUGE advantage for a gamer like me over the Wii U. I am interested in the PS4 because Sony always gets a lot games that appeal to me on their consoles. Interested in the Xbox One for some exclusives and Kinect games.

Neither has a great deal of games to offer me at launch, but since the PS3 has been a great media center for me I am willing to go in a PS4 at launch. I thought about canceling my pre-order but now that I've sold my Wii U I am ready for a PS4 and am not likely to ever sell it unless it's to trade 'up' to a revised model. I'll be getting a Xbox One when Fantasia comes out. And maybe Titanfall.

I got a Wii U last Christmas. It's the only next gen console I'll have. I could not care less about video games these days.

Not sure if it applies to you, but the PS4 won't offer any media center abilities, outside of Sony's streaming video/music services and Netflix, Hulu, etc.

As for myself, I'll wait it out a couple years like I did last gen. One of the upsides to having a massive backlog, I suppose.

I'm assuming it'll play back MP4 and be able to stream from a bunch of different services. Media center enough for me. Just like the PS3. I do use my Xbox a little bit for TV since I don't even own a TV anymore.
