That's silly. Any truly great game is worth at least a second playthrough, as there is always some cool stuff that you miss the first time around. Most of my favorite games revealed more to me on second and third playthroughs. Plus, you develop more skill at a game when you keep playing it, so it gets more fun.kingmohd84 wrote:I will never play a game twice , there is so much games out there that I do not care to complete a game I experienced one more time. To me this only applies to 50+ hour RPGs. I don't see myself playing Tales of Symphonia again for a long time, even though I loved it.kingmohd84 wrote:I will never play a game twice
But are you telling me you've only played games like Super Mario Bros. or Contra once?

Re: Games You Have Played Over 100 Times
I typically will get a second or third playthrough out a game if I really like it, and if there's more stuff to do after I beat it (like unlockables, trophies, achievements, ranking, percentage completion, etc.). After that, the game goes on the shelf and never gets played again. I usually get my money's worth out of anything I really like the first time around, exhausting the game completely and experiencing every thing and doing everything and putting in at least a second playthrough. That way I know I really and truly am DONE with the game. That's one of the reasons I rarely ever revisit a game I've played before, because I likely already played the hell out of it the first time around
This year, I played through Lollipop Chainsaw three times and got all the trophies AND achievements for it. I played Mark of the Ninja all the way through twice, as you have to run through the game a second time on new game plus to get all the achievements. I played Final Fantasy XIII-2 and got every trophy. I'm running through Sleeping Dogs after beating it just to get all the achievements. It's unlikely I'll ever go back to these games again after this year as I've already gotten every drop of gameplay there is to get out of them.

Yeah, that logic is like saying "Yes I slept with Natalie Portman, but who would want to do that twice?".BoneSnapDeez wrote:But are you telling me you've only played games like Super Mario Bros. or Contra once?kingmohd84 wrote:I will never play a game twice

Re: Games You Have Played Over 100 Times
When it comes to longer, storyline based games, I dont see the point if the game is very linear and/or cutscene heavy. Games that are very linear and full of cutscenes and unskippable conversations usually aren't that much faster on your second playthrough, while games that rely on player finding, reading and trying out stuff on his own usually become much faster to play through the second time around. It might take 3+ hours for a player to complete a level of a Thief game on his first playthrough, while a person who knows exactly what to do might be able to do the same level in 8 to 10 minutes.BoneSnapDeez wrote:To me this only applies to 50+ hour RPGs. Re: Games You Have Played Over 100 Times
There are other games I want to experience. Imagine you have Sonic and Mario. You already played Mario. Will you play Sonic that you have been waiting a long time to play, or replay mario bros again?Luke wrote:Yeah, that logic is like saying "Yes I slept with Natalie Portman, but who would want to do that twice?".BoneSnapDeez wrote:But are you telling me you've only played games like Super Mario Bros. or Contra once?kingmohd84 wrote:I will never play a game twice

Now imagie you have 100 games.
I never completed Mario bros or Contra. I do not beat games that are extra difficult with limited lives , no saves or passwords. This system was used back when games were rare and they did not have much to offer, so they make it difficult to complete . Now you get all kinds of games on all system 30 years old to demos of ones coming in the future.
If you like particularly one game then fine , but I wont spend a month trying to perfect mario bros. just to die at the last level.

Super Mario Bros. took me a bit less than week to complete both "quests" without continues. IDK, challenging games is what makes them fun to play IMO, otherwise it's just going through the motions.
I tend to also not replay games that have collecting as a form of 100%-ing it. I don't think I can ever play Banjo-Kazooie again without getting bored quickly (it's one of my most favorite games of all-time) unless maybe there will be a sort of master quest for it later on.
